The populations of all cities in this video are incorrect, all way below their actual numbers. Below are actually top 10 cities population wise in China. 1. Hangzhou 12.9 million 2. Xi'an 13.2 million 3. Wuhan 13.5 million 4. Tianjin 16.42 million 5. Shenzhen 17.76 million 6. Guangzhou 20 million 7. chengdu 20.5 million 8. Beijing 25 million 9. Shanghai 28 million 10. Chongqin 32 million.

You're referring to the population including the surrounding areas of cities. The most common way is to include strictly the populations of cities only.
