I have watched many other trainers,just to keep current with horses, I always check bits,rigging, and physical traits of horses and riders...I have started to watch you sir in the morning with my coffee,and I feel ready to take on the day of chores ....in a calm and relaxed state....so you are training me as well as influencing my training with our horses

Pat & Deb, I am using your missing link snaffle on a now 17 year old mare, that was 16 when started on your snaffle. She had a brief start as a young mare, but was a broodmare until I bought her. She is riding real well, and really likes the missing link snaffle. I have owned a horse or more since 1966, and I just wish your videos had been available back then. I learned the hard way back then, and now have been using your videos to refresh my poor memory. I used your method to teach her to back, and she responded fairly quickly. I recommend your bit to anyone that will listen, my friends just bought one. Keep up the great videos, as they are helping many horses and their owners. Don Marana, AZ

All excellent videos: thank you for sharing your wisdom in training horses. Much appreciated. We are in Fair play California- too bloody hot & smokey air is very predominant. Can't do much outside , as if late .Have a small 7ac, 1 horse horse ranch & quite grateful for all.

I'm sure it was coincidence, but I found it cool when Chinaco took a deep sigh after you said "breathe"
@PatnDebPuckett
@PatnDebPuckett 3 жыл бұрын
No, it wasn’t coincidence. It happened because Pat let down with his breathing. When Pat works horses without the camera running, he doesn’t talk. He speaks during the video because he wants you to understand what he is doing and thinking which is affecting the horse. No coincidence.

@@PatnDebPuckett It's amazing how in tune horses can be with our body language if we present it effectively and listen.

Pat & Deb Puckett I use Pats breathing and technique in a lot of my daily transactions, especially with home school starting up. Thank you!! I just take a deep breath, and let my daughter work it, I don’t get a temper or react. Just keep it calm and steady like ‘Ol Pat. Grass Valley CA

Question. Why ride with a bit versus going bit less anyway. Hack a ore or other bit less when most all bits cause pain especially when someone gets heavy handed. Your thoughts appreciated.
@PatnDebPuckett
@PatnDebPuckett 3 жыл бұрын
First, in the tradition we follow, the bit is a signal and does not cause pain. It can cause pressure. Bit less bridles offer very little signal and are simple, direct pull devices with no pre-signals. Second, we need to ride our horses in a level of collection with a level of accuracy that cannot be achieved in a bosal. Third, when riding outside, working cattle, a bit offers safety in an emergency or when galloping after cattle.
