Year late to this party, but found this searching for info on the river. Only fished it once in college and had an epic day walking in a million miles from Deerfield park. Tank smallies from skinny water was a blast.

I had a pike take a bite of a small bass I was fighting in, once, but it knocked the little bass off of my jig, in the process. LOL

I know this video's a bit old, but figured I'd see anyways. Where do you park when getting to this spot? My buddy and I've always seen the no parking signs by the bridge, do you just say screw it and park there anyways, or is there somewhere else?

How did you get there? Waders and park on coldwater road? I plan to try there soon just curious on the details.

Small bait, small fish? I've never used baits that small for walleye. Would a 4 or 5 inch bait give you a better chance at larger fish?

I definitely agree, a bigger bait would select for the larger fish if they’re around. Most nights at this spot though I’m just fishing for numbers and the smaller bait seems like the way to go. It usually produces a nice mix of walleyes and crappies plus whatever else is around.
