ABOUT DANNY
-----------------------
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!
I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.
On KZfaq and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.
Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble
I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

Danny I've gotten so much from your videos. Your descriptions are detailed and understandable and well thought out. That makes it easier to take with me to use practically. I've lost several strokes as a result of your guidance, and more importantly, I am no longer physically sore from playing, as I'm no longer forcing the strokes. It's made playing fun again and I really appreciate your contributions.

Danny, You are an awesome chipping instructor! For someone who developed the chipping yips and listened to all the advice re forward lean of the shaft etc. and watched Phil's and Dave Pelz's short game videos with little result, it is amazing to me how effective your simple and clearly explained advice is. Especially your right hand only drill. It really addresses what I have been doing wrong for the last few years. Thank you for making golf fun again! Bless you, bless you , bless you.

Brilliant Danny, I’ve had yips for 2 years as a 6 hdcp, can you imagine the frustration, this best video I’ve seen. I’ve recently watched TV golf world with Mitch Spearman in Bahamas with a young lad giving lessons. One thing he mentioned was to get your triceps attached to the front of your chest ie arms not at side of body but on chest. You say a similar thing, but this allows you to stay attached far better in one piece. It was a little pearl of wisdom, which as you state but the triceps just solidified it all, wow 😮 it’s working, taking club back lower as a result no steep angle of attack chunks any more. Thanks Danny ❤️ your work.

Bro, Thank you. I have been playing golf for 30 years and for some reason my chipping has been horrible for the last 3 years. The rest of my game is pretty good but chipping costs me at least 5 to 10 strokes a round. I am a 10 handicap and have been practicing your techniques for the last week. Your videos showed me at least 3 or 4 bad habits that I have fallen into for the last 3 years. My goal for this year is to get back into a single digit handicap. I just subscribed, you are very good. Thanks again from Canada. I

Danny, I cannot thank you enough for sharing these amazing tips. I just started golfing (Less than a year in) and a major shortfall in my game has always been my short game, well I am pretty much still terrible at everything but pitching and chipping was something that cripples my score. Thanks to this video, I managed to get +18 for my latest 9 hole game. Still terrible I know, but just before this video I was still shooting +27 and above. Hope this carries over to my next game though! Thank you so much for this!

This is terrific. Thanks, Danny! First video I've seen that compares/contrasts chipping and pitching from the same distance, and I like that you point out the differences between the two approaches. And I really liked the suggestion for those timid to use a higher loft on a chip to think more like a pitch. That's me, terrified to use high lofted clubs so close to the pin. :) :)

Danny, apologies sorry what I meant was that after the chip onto large extremely fast greens have you suggestions, when getting to putting stage how to stop going many yards past hole, then losing your bottle and putting short, resulting in 3/4 putts. It’s more a putting long distance on really speedy greens when your used to putting on slowish greens.

I only wish I could have similar results on my short game from what I do on practice range to the golf course...……. so frustrating ! Great videos in here !

Hi Danny, Great training, to clarify the difference. However your other training on chipping 1) up to 50 yards and 2)shorter chip shots. You used a 52/56 deg wedge. 50 yards you stood fairly tal left foot turned out,l with a very light right hand. On the previous shorter chipping you did mention weght on left foot and not as option. Sorry if I have got confused, at 71 only been playing 18mths so really enjoy your training (you tube) but I have'nt got the years to get everything right.

Great question Alvin, as the short game is varied there is more than one way to play. The key is to use the bounce of the club as much as you can and avoid the leading edge sticking in the ground

Can you please explain where or when would you use pitching/chipping? I understand that they are two different shots but not sure in what situation would you use either shot. Love all your tutorials. Thanks

Hello Danny, fan of your videos! Quick question: is it okay to take a divot with pitching shots of 50 or more yards? Thank you.
@DanielMaude
@DanielMaude 5 жыл бұрын
brugeri, absolutely as they can often need more power and thus more shaft lean

Danny, bit further on, I play on slowish greens, when we have comps/matches at places like Saunton, East Devon and Royal North Devon, where greens are huge and so fast it’s frightening. Can you help with tips to stop going miles past the holes and landing up with 3/4 putt’s as we then get frightened of going back past the hole.

mick19421, great question...if the greens are really quick then I would use more loft even from close range to increase backspin...it requires a good strike and therefore technique but you would need to have a more brisk rhythm through the hitting area. Increasing speed can be a bit unnerving but it’s the only way to add spin and get the ball stopping Hope this helps

Great lesson Danny. Thanks. How do I avoid getting right under the ball on pitch shots, resulting it no distance and usually ending up in a bunker ? 🙄
@DanielMaude
@DanielMaude 5 жыл бұрын
Mark Stanley if you don’t want to get right underneath the ball just have a little more forward lean in the shaft at impact

Hi Danny your method of chip n pitch goes against everything I've ever heard but works beautifully!!!!... Tighten the triangle is definitely my new way of chip n pitch.... question would you recommend that for full approach shots from 150 or so?

Great video Danny. I have a sort of advanced question for you. This method works perfectly for me. Where it's a little more of just a right wrist hinge and then I do a little bit of grip roll with pitching as well to get a little higher. But before I understood this technique I did a little more of a sweeping feel, it would feel like I could rotate my left arm back and through and get a nice smooth little pitch or I can even do that with my right wrist as well or it's more rotational. It feels like a sweep and a simple club rotation. Is that every useful from a strategy point of view to have that technique in my bag? Or should I focus more on just the hinge?

Jacob R I think it’s great you have a technique that gives you a certain type of golf shot...this is what makes the short game so much fun and very individual
