Technology makes thing more simple, cellphones and social media allow another way to get together, and share valuable info, the access to all kinds of entertainment and news from independant sources, high definition video and sound. things are way better now, but there's still bad like price-gouging, wage-slavery, all our jobs being sold overseas or south of the border, or filled by illegal immigrants, workers' rights violations, a lot of the problems come from a lack of unions, no unions leads to no middle class, and the leaves the idol rich narcissists with their puppet government, and the rest of us, the struggling working class. That's why unions need to come back BIG TIME, and why there's a union movement right now growing. To take the power back and fight down the fascist bully-boy oligarchy.

as always very well done we enjoy each one of the chips videos. living in Newhall we would see them filming chips a lot . the funny part was to see them on a trailer being pulled and the bikes were just the frames. art/kimmy

The CHP was pretty strict in the 80s. I got my first ticket doing 60 in a 55 mph zone. Today, you see people flying by you at 110 and no sign of the CHP. That department has gone to hell since Chips was cancelled:)

Awesome job Kurt. My favorite seasons were 1,2 and 3, when they could actually film on the unopened section of the 210 freeway, which was under construction at the time, so they were given permission to film on it. Looking forward to more CHiPs videos. Great job. 😊

Damn, I was such a CHiPs nerd when I was a kid. I remember watching TV with a buddy in the summer of 1977 when a promo came on for the new motorcycle highway patrol tv show called CHiPs. We were instantly hooked right there and then before it even started. I always liked the fact they would focus the episodes on the biggest trending fad of the moment. It was no joke that those mustang steering wheels would just come off at anytime for no apparent reason what-so-ever. I can't remember after Ponch saved the woman in the cliff-dangler car if it broke loose and exploded, but I'd put money it did. The Datsun 280Z seemed to be the super cool car to have back in those days. Please do more CHiPs filming locations, these are awesome!

I used to live off of Washington blvd by sepulveda in the 80s. The chips crew used to eat at Tito’s Tacos by the intersection of Washington and Sepulveda

Memories! Worked at the Log Jammer, and also at the Carousel. They are two of the original attractions at Magic Mountain.

As a side note, at the 13:44 mark where Ponch is on top of the car attempting to rescue the woman (at the second bridge) you can see that the Montrose Search and Rescue Team is on hand with ropes and harnesses making sure everything goes smoothly. They have a 500 mile radius throughout the Angeles Forest and have been around for over 75 years now. Living in Norway now it’s great to see Big T (Tujunga) with its beautiful blue skies and surroundings both past and present. Great presentation of the classic “Chips” show. 👍

I just stumbled across this video. I loved the show as a kid and this brings back a lot of memories. It was cool to see the locations today. It's funny how they were all over that speeder and the drag racers. You nailed the ending with the freeze framing. Last, you sound just like Norm MacDonald. It made the video even better lol. Great video.

Very Cool I love canyon Country..........matter of fact that McDonalds parking lot is where a huge shoot out with Bikers and the Cops took place in the 70s.......I have a real picture of Elvis Presley and the one of the officers holding a check for 10k donating it to the slain officers family....I am almost positive the picture was taken inside that CHP truck Scale office........there is a video on here that shows where everything took place and just north on the Old road by Tommys chili burger there is a brick memorial made about the incedent

At 2:55 the films on the theater marquee are Sholay and Flames. Never heard of either of those films. I believe its Sholay which came out in 1975 after a quick Google search. Flames appears to be 1926 silent film. Very strange for those to be on a marquee together.
