Chisel plowing ground on our upstate New York dairy farm. Plowing with a John Deere 4555 pulling a Brillion 9 shank chisel plow. We'll be planting corn in this field for cattle feed. #farming #dairyfarm #equipment #agriculture #tillage #johndeere

Great vid! We had about 5 minutes of shade here in northern nv. With the eclipse! Its finally warm enough to get the deere's running!

Every day is an eclipse day when I dunk my Oreo in my coffee before chore time most mornings. All of our plowing is done, got some disking in a couple of days when everything dries enough. So nice to have options on your operation.

We found that bailage is great. Just try to only bail in a year what you'll use in a year an a half. I've seen so many guys make a ton of bales and before long they have a pile still that they made 4 years ago and ends up being waste. Hopefully things dry up here in NY. Tired of all this rain already. Have a good one Mike

Question I notice you and other farm channels in the colder climates still so lots of tillage. In our area piedmont NC it’s all no till, dairy’s usually do winter grain, follow with corn. Crop farmers do winter wheat with a mix or corn and soybeans. Also I seen a skidder in the background, so are you guys selling some timber?

Fields look great mike. Trying to steer a drone and drive tractor at the same is a total pain but you do a great job.

Gracias. Esto se llama arado de cincel. Hace un buen trabajo cortando rastrojos y mezclando el estiércol con el suelo mientras ara. Todavía saldremos adelante con un disco y nivelaremos las cosas después.

We did about 6 years ago I wanna say. We ran a 7 shank back in the day and traded it in when we got our wheel loader. We've run this 9 shank for about 6 years now

I was in the barn feeding cows when it happened. I had a headache so I didn't feel like putting on glasses and staring at the sun. It sucks for anyone who really wanted to see it because it was so cloudy. Of course the next day was clear and beautiful!

Chiseling ahead of manure makes sense to me. Your coulter chisel takes a lot of traction, and manure can be slippery. A disk can be "lighted up" and still do it's job incorporating the manure. I have ripped ground ahead of spreading slurry manure, then disked it in. The following year when I moldboard plowed the field, I could still see the dark streaks where the manure went in the ripper shank slots. Heavy clay land, but the system worked. Great video, and what brand is your chisel?

Thanks Morgan. We have a Brillion 9 shank plow. I like the job it does cutting the trash and mixing in the manure

@@mikep7810 Nice machine! I ran a JD 12 shank "mulch tiller" that we borrowed, and it made a Ford TW20 howl, but the same tractor was not bothered by a 14 shank straight chisel, no coulters.
