“I have succeeded.” “I always knew you would.” That exchange alone is full of such romance and tenderness.

It's funny to think Caractacus and Truly spent more time bonding and falling in love in the 'fantasy' part of this movie than the real-life part - in the movie's 'reality' they only know each other for about three days. Everything about them falling in love and about Chitty flying and saving everybody were just a fantasy. But then the car takes off again in the "real" world, as if to say "OR WAS IT?"
@12classics3921 күн бұрын
I think Chitty was so magical that she was able to either warp reality or transport the family into an alternate dimension in which the Bombursts lived, and then moved them back to the beach as if it was just a story. Who says magical cars can’t do that?

It’s okay. Even though this is rated G, doesn’t exactly mean it’s meant mostly for little kids. It just means it’s suitable for everyone to watch. It’s to entertain everyone, it does for me as well. What a masterpiece this movie truly is ❤ This is definitely a better G movie than the bullshit we get today.

Lord Scrumptious’ secretary who says “Mr Whistling Sweets?” is played by Richard Wattis, but is uncredited. And it’s hard to believe that Ross Parker (The Chef) and Max Bacon (The Orchestra Leader) are credited but Richard Wattis is not. And I think that Wattis deserves to be credited more than Bacon and Parker do considering that Wattis has more dialogue than the other two.

@Rodenson13145 ай бұрын
No but the real life reason makes sense. After Dick did a Cockney accent in Mary Poppins, a TON of people were upset with him. He decided that when shooting this movie, even though it's set in England and his movie family is English, that he was better off doing an American accent and not trying to be English 😁
