Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is a legendary car made famous by the musical film ! and although i'm not a fan of the film ! (i may not have mentioned that in this weeks toy tuesday video) this is another great piece of toy making from corgi ! first released in 1968 as number corgi 266, this is a complex pieces of miniature engineering and craftsmanship that contains a combination of materials including diecast metal, lithograph printed tin, plastics and miniature figure sculpting, along with spring operated wings, creating a staggeringly accurate model. now re-released for 2022 corgi number CC03502 Chitty Chitty Bang Bang ! is the latest edition of this classic toy ! please check out my unboxing and comparison video of these two epic models, and let me know what you think in the comments section below ! also if you want to share any stories of your favorite toys please add them below too.

Thank you for the wonderful review. Chitty is one of my very first movie theater experiences. Crazy how vivid and clear my memory is of that day, with my grandfather taking me. I love the film, love the car (it was so magical), and I love Corgi. I do have the re-issue model, which is nice. One day I will get me an original.

Read Flemings original. Much darker ( even than Dahl child catcher narrative) gangsters in Paris with a arsenal of weapons discovered by the Pott ( no S) family. And when you see why the original car was named Chitty bang bang which inspired Fleming for his book , you can see why you struggle to say the words. 😂

I purchased on eBay a mint example of the original Chitty Chitty Bang Bang over 10 years ago. However, when I received it I noticed one of the figures was loose in the box. I foolishly pressed the figure into a seat and heard a slight cracking sound. I had cracked the very frail cloud base and was so disgusted that I did not look at the toy for many years. I then resold it back on eBay. A few years later, I thought about the Chitty and not wanting to end my life without owning it again, I tried again on eBay to purchase a perfect, unbroken one. I eventually found one in England and I will never let it out of my sight. After all these years, I still think the Corgi Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is the most glamorous toy car ever made, and I own a perfect example of it.

Always wanted this one as a kid. Very valuable now. Never got it, should probably have asked for it for Christmas. Had the James Bond and Batman models. Also lots of Matchbox models which I love to this day...

Inspired me to find a copy of CCBB, hadnt seen it in years. Alles gut, was just as i remembered brom 50+ years ago. But as we got to 'chuchi face', it occurred to me that if this wasnt the trumps, i quit!

I had one of those probably around 1969-71, but like all toys with wings it ended up with a model rocket engine attached to it, and I believe that was the end of it.

Good release by corgi! But still I prefer the vintage version👌 with jewled headlights & with more detailed finished! Nevertheless they also released a poor version in 2001 with no working pop up wings & with the only the driver figure👎 so they did a better job for the 50th anniversary of the movie! Thanks mate🙏 cheerio🥂 & have a blast for 2022💥 Ps I wish a quick recovery😉

again the original one wins hand down, the new one is ok though very crisp finish on it ! but the level of complexity on the original toy is astonishing really ! i'm sure i remember one version with no figures in it at all. i remember the telling me they'ed dropped it from the range after the stage show finished, because it was expensive and tricky to make, without the of volume sales. it would be good to do a vintage box version one though ?? thank you as always for watching and commenting ! stay safe M

I'm in ontario Canada. Just found one of the original versions of this. Aside from.missing the rear fin it has all its accessories including the four riders. Paints a little beat up and gold has been worn off but I got her for a mere 80 cad.

I feel like the 1968 version is more accurate to the movie version (other than the headlights). I say this because on the 68 version the back wheels have more spokes than the front wheels which is a fine detail to include, it really makes it more accurate to the movie car. On the other hand, the most recent re-release has wheels that are very obviously taken from some other corgi car, all four wheels consist of 12 spokes each making them inaccurate to the movie version. Another minor issue i have with the modern release is that the colour saturation all over the model is slightly exaggerated, making it look more like (and this may sound daft), the musical version. Other than that its still a very good model.

You know they only seem to produce the reissue when the musical is in production ! It’s funny how they go to so much effort for accuracy on some models & like you say just use stock parts for other ! Hope you enjoyed the video ! M

Another gem mon ami. This is my safe space!!! 🙈 Re the flipped video. I don't know the cause, but if you are editing in iMovie. Click 'Clip filter and audio effects' then 'Clip filter' then 'Flip'... Voila. Happy New Year from a french forest to the most immaculate beard in the business! 🌞

its my safe space too at the moment i can't go out 😂🤪 and you my friend are a total genius ! i just tried it now in the edit and i can invert the images whilst i edit them putting the text right (i've only been making videos for three years 🤣😂) and ive found out how to speed my voice up so it sounds like i'm on helium or slow it down like someone in witness protection ! happy new year ! thanks for the tip too, it make the whole thing a bit more professional (a bit🤣) glad as always for your comments ! stay safe ! Just a question why is the space 1999 eagle alwaysc so expensive even the older green blue ones ?

This may sound daft but I think it’s because it’s such a cool thing, it’s one of those toys that was played with to distraction, the later packaging was prone to damage, so not many good ones survived. Plus you up against every kid my age 😂😂😂 wanting to collect them ! And with prices soaring during lockdown all thins has made it harder for you to find one ! And modern ones are so expensive to make. Top tip create an account on the saleroom.com and enter a search for one they will email you when one comes up for auction (always check they do mail order and the cost and ask for a condition note) and you should be able to find one before it makes its was to evilbay 😂😂 thank you for your comment, hope you enjoyed the video! its one of those films that if its on in the background you end up watching it, i think its was because i was about 15 when i first watched it, and being a moody tenager probably didnt help 😂 😂 but the toy is epic, all that detail all those individual parts and the quality really make it a blinder ! i bet its good in the theatre too ! thank you for sharing your memories and for your comment, hope you enjoyed the video. stay safe ! its a mix of die-cast metal, tinplate and plastic a bit like the original, its not a bad reproduction really. hope you enjoyed the video. M

Hi I just watched your video I have recently bought a gold bonnet chitty and also have a pure silver bonnet chitty too and I was just wondering how meany gold bonnet chittys were made ? And what year were they made from and when did they stop production on the gold bonnet chitty ?

Is the problem you're having with the video showing backwards because you're using the front facing camera on your phone? Maybe try the rear camera 🤷‍♂️
