True. Chloe made that choice after Father Frank's death. She was going to have dinner with Dan and called it off to be the friend Lucifer needed. That was the first of three episodes that helped to really kick off _DeckerStar._ In that episode, she offered Lucifer consolation. In the next episode, it was Chloe who went to Lucifer for consolation from a *broken heart* caused by a bogus breakup text supposedly from Dan. Lucifer, in turn was a *GENTLEMAN* and didn't take advantage of Chloe's intoxicated state. At the end of the next episode, Chloe finally realized that _DeckerStar_ was _"A thing™"_ _"Maybe us, our thing, goes beyond just work. I can let my guard down with you and I don't do that with anyone else. You make me vulnerable, and maybe that's OK."_ There would be many missteps and setbacks to follow. Those were necessary for two main reasons: character development and to maintain viewer interest throughout *SIX SEASONS!* The other theme that is really understated is how *DURABLE* and *PERSISTENT* _ChloDan_ was! Ironically, it only *IMPROVED* after their divorce! After we got to 5x08, Dan was actually a big time _DeckerStar_ shipper! He *LOVED* Chloe so much that he eventually figured out that she would be better off with Lucifer! Perhaps one of the biggest lines was in that zoo/cave where he told Maze _"He really does care about her!"_

It was evident in the first episode itself ❤️meant for each other

@@AkshayArul11072000 Most definitely. I loved Chloe's reaction in that final hospital scene. Lucifer said, _"I look forward to seeing you soon Chloe."_ Chloe said _"I don't!",_ but... Just look at her face as she watches him leave. _DeckerStar_ would have grown faster had Lucifer not been an emotional *FIVE YEAR OLD,* but that's the extent of his time on earth by the first season.

I always felt like Linda could have solved this issue early on when Chloe and her became friends. She could have clued Chloe into the reasons why Lucifer was so distant without revealing his true self. Instead she allowed Chloe to think Lucifer didn't care

@@derpypigeon I'd say he's been in love with Chloe since the end of s1. But yes for the majority of the show for sure. Thing is I think Lucifer loved her before she started to love him in S2. It just took him a lot longer to be able to say it than she did.

Eve NEVER lied to him or questioned his feelings for her even though he never said he loved her! Eve was also wanting to go to hell to be with Lucifer but Chloe was content with letting Lucifer go there 30-50 human years which equaled millions of hell years!

The irony of the fact that that's true is amazing, thinking about it, and considering this Lucifer is nigh completely based on his namesake, ergo meaning his only named sin was Pride. It was the other rulers of Hell that, according to pre aggregated Devil versions of Abrahamic faiths, held the other Sins entitled Deadly. The fact he honestly is less arrogant than his kin is remarkable. Quite the clever nod from the writers.
