Was about to type that same stuff so have my upvote^^ Cron amount on PEN BS and maybe TRI Fallen god pieces coming down a bit seems reasonable enough to me when the cron cost goes up THAT hard. I already find myself barely using crons since they are just too expensive and ppl on CM are selling cheaper than I could (on avg luck) enhance by myself. For servers with little or no costumes we are talking 3M per cron. 11B per PEN BS click, 240-250 FS meaning 19 avg taps: 209B for 1 single PEN BS weapon. I do not know if that is PA's goal but it is just too many hours of grind for my personal taste... with bad luck it might also be 300-400B easily.

Yeah, I like Choice but I 100% disagree with the idea that there is a "known" duel for spot etiquette. That idea comes from rules that a few guilds put together as "Guild Etiquette" that you must follow as a member or be kicked. I can see the honor in that concept but honestly, if I work full time, have to make ends meet irl and value whatever little time spent in BDO then I will NOT move from my grind spot and if you ask to duel I will just ignore you. And if you flag up and kill me, I have elions tears saved. Why waste my time, buffs and comfort because someone else wont find a different server to grind on?

Not to mention Choice says DFS is a way to solve a problem without wasting anyone's time when, in itself, it is a waste of the time (and buffs and everything) of the person who's already grinding in the spot. I don't know how people don't see that. No one should have to duel for spot if they got there first, when you really stop and think of it it just doesn't work. As you're trying to gear up and catch up, there could always be people with higher gear coming to take your spot. It's insane that anyone who's really thought of the system extensively would say it works.

@@Matthew-ij3zm it’s definitely tough to solve. I’m not against DFS or dueling/fighting someone for a grind spot or fighting to defend your spot. It’s always going to be a “waste of time” since neither person is grinding and now fighting each other. But the marni realm change should help alleviate that while letting the ppl who want to pvp go out and pvp.

I disagree with the notion that DFS etiquette is some kind of universally known rule, from my experience I've only been asked once in the past month to DFS at Orcs and they vastly outgeared me so I just gave them the spot after a single match and hopped. One in a blue moon a nice person will quickly ask how long I have left and if it's over 20 mins they go ahead and server hop or go on an alt to lifeskill and come back, I've had like 3 of these people in the past month. In all other instances where combat is involved, they just grind over you or flag up. It feels like every day at potion piece zones it's like this. 2-3 people just trying to PK each other or run each other over in the main rotation. I've one single duel at a spot in the past month, ONE, and that was only at an endgame-ish area. All early-to-mid game areas? Just toxicity and rudeness. I got so fucking fed up at Blood Wolves with how many fuckers there were just running me over or forcing me into getting karma bombed that I had to limit it to 1-2 hours per day using Marni realm or early morning hour grind and got the piece after 3 weeks. Marni Realm change is absolutely 1000% a good thing in this regard. As for guild decs, the most common place my guild gets dec'd at is fucking Garmoth. We're on our alts, and a rival guild brings 3 people with 730 GS and shits on us right after Garmoth. Happens every week to the point where everyone is trucking their mains to Garmoth now to prepare for the dec. I now do Garmoth on a different server from the rest of my guild because of this waste of time. Orcs is another popular place, another rival guild just decs and zergs with 4-5 people to run over the one guildie who is grinding there and now that "grind session" has turned into a 8v8 pvp fuckfest and the guildie has no choice but to simply leave his grind spot halfway through. Honestly, DFSs basically don't exist in this game anymore with how infrequent they seem to occur. Idk what Choice is smoking tbh, it is so rare to actually engage in an amicable DFS, it is always a forced dec or flag. The only decs that seem to ever occur are guilds looking to fight but don't want a fair one so they just force it on some poor sucker trying to chill and get some silver. IMO good changes overall. Random open world PvP just isn't fun unless you are the one actively ruining another player's day, at that point it's just toxicity to take out anger on others.

​@@Matthew-ij3zmno. It is a way to resolve an issue without wasting AS MUCH time. It's better than having someone grind over you, having to switch server and find another spot etc.

They both explained their points very well. They are both right and wrong. I think i side with bicep a bit just because at the end of the day, the cron stone inflation would have to be made eventually.

thats how bdo always has been though. The endgame has always been something that took years to get to. They streamlined the shit out of it already. when stars end was released only 1% of the player base could go there. Same with Ash. then players progressed and theyre their getting debos now. This has never been a game where you play 500 hrs and youre done, it a KR grinder. It doesnt appeal to the newer player base bc they want endgame as fast as possible and i think bdo has done a good job at balancing their wants and the point of the game which is slow progression w a ton a grinding.

for example crystals not break was a thing in console BDO for a long time, i had first hand experience with that and the effects it had on the cm which wasn't great

There is a change coming soon so you can do 11h a day, but its grind 1h, rechargge 1h then you can grind 1h again so..

big true. the most fun i've had grinding in bdo is on seasonal servers since no pvp. the bad thing is i can't use my main character so it kinda ruins it.

Nah, Sony is absolutely wrong on cron usage and costume purchases. EU's market has been dry for years and every time there was an increase, costumes were sold for a few days, then back to 200 orders. People do use a lot more crons than he thinks, even when it's not worth using, because the punishment for failing is physiologically devastating. New players always cron their TRI Distortions or TET Crescent rings. It is unfortunate that Choise is a weak debater, because Sony puts his foot in his mouth for the entire thing.

@@trndrd First, I don't understand why you're listening to a podcast of 3 NA guys who are gonna have completely different experiences than you on a different region. Second, people do not use as many crons as YOU think. Some new idiotic players will but in general most do not until later stages. As a guy who helped lead a new player guild, i know the new players were harped on by every streamer/discord/guild member to buy not enhance. And the vast majority do, they will use their crons on long shot chances for fun. Thus YOU are wrong not "SONI". Finally, Choice debated well, i think there was some crossover on the comms that pushed Bicept to talk over him but that was Kanon's job to stop it. Both got their points across but I agree with Bicept, there is insane inflation in the game and it needs to be curbed a little or people will blast through progression and have nothing more to do. But that is my opinion you're welcome to whatever fantasy you have as well.

People in new guilds are getting to 700gs so fast its insane and there is no reason to have gear progression fast anymore. Everything you do in this game is capped content except for pve and a tiny tiny portion of pvp. Thus curb inflation, let people progress over the long term like an achievement and keep improving on the capped content. Super ez take

i got DFS requests regularly back in the day, like gahaz circa 2018. i'd just say no thank you and continue grinding. if they wanna kill me they gotta take the karma hit. and i'll never stop coming back to my spot :)

One way that I can think of is make low grind spot is not PVP-able. So top player will leave centaur because of the crowded with new player and go to new high AP req spot because of lesser player are in their AP range and are going to grind there.

yes this game is very punishing for new players, which is why it only gets new players during big events and youtube campaigns by content creators like recently. few likely actually stay past a few weeks/months though because of how bad this game is for new players. probably the worst mmo on the market for non-vets. seasons did help a bit at least.

None of the "newer player upgrades" require cron stones to upgrade. In fact, you are griefing yourself(wasting money) if you use cron stones on pretty much anything below pen bs\godr-eye progression, tri+ fg armor set or debo accessories and none of those are newer player gear, these are high-end items.

Crons are tied to average market price btw.

Nah dude the game changed so much as a returning player that started over after a 4 year break, I cant believe how fast u progress 0 crowns needed to get to full tri godr or tet bs whatever u prefer and fallen god and lebreska included it's just so easy these days

i dont know how people think it can effect endgame players more than new players, endgame players already aquired a lot of gear enhanced with crons which new players dont and in theory if both are on the way to hardcap, it effects the new player way more

@@92mkd thats hos point. Everyone for this change knows exactly how bad it'll be. Marni server only "works" if everyone is using them around the same time and choosing not to grind another hour. There will be overlap.

new players barely need any crons while hardcap players need way more - pen debo attempt costs u 11548 crons while a new player doesnt go for debo, or acc acc they stack up crons long term, it will slow down these higher end geared player more than newer players, unless u use ur crons for tet bossgear or pen crescent attempt but thats ur fault. in the long term it will help the game, because they making them more valueable in that case. people compare stuff with their 260 ap with 330ap people, true that people that have done it before will have a profit from it short term since they are not that affected compared to people that are in that exact spots, however the game will continue to make new content at some point, and it will close the gear gap a little, also its impossible to balance it out. make it 1m, everyone will catch up and be hardcap in 1 year due to the cron price & ppl will get bored. let it 2m (which prob will be for another 6-12months, since korea has 2 peal costume changes and they balance the price around that, so we're getting the last price increase first from 1 year ago anyway with still 2m cron price). also i got around 2k+ crons in the last 30 days without spending anything, there are so many ways to get crons if u know how or actually playing the game.

@@user-uu9up5fe5t just because the scope is smaller doesnt mean the problem isnt there also with gear inflation the problem will become larger and larger if they continue going this route and do it that way again if they wanna do a vendor cron price increase it should be more gradual rather than all at once is what im trying to get at as the costume price change will have differing effects on differing servers due to real life economy so the huge spike in vendor cron won't work well on EU for example where on other servers like NA, MENA and KR the servers where the costume cron price increase matters because you can actually get costumes consistently off the market cron prices being 3m is fine since you have a better alternative. and this doesnt even take away from my first point even tho the scope is small in comparison to playerbase as a whole (as of now), because it just sucks for the subset of players it actually matters for

the point being that vendor crons can't be outrageously expensive on EU in comparison to custome crons

i quit the game 4 years ago because a high gs player followed me around through channels and just hunted me incessantly. i was a pretty new player grinding at helms and being constantly harassed by a player that could 1 shot me...well there was no point playing any more

since the market can flactuate some crystals dropped below 500m while being 800m+ before, so said its impossible especially when u have rare crystals these rare crystal will sit on the market forever on minprice, cant sell, cant break, bad idea, especially if u look at the market now (or before the event started) the crystal market is in a healthy state jin viper are listed way below 500m, even the newest crystals lets say Haetae tear is listed below 2b silver on minprice, if those crystals dont break, it will sink down to 1b x99999 listed at some point, newer crystals were always rare and very expensive but after some weeks they are not rare anymore and very easy to buy

nah bro, pve grindspots are limited therefore by design are to be fought over if you don't want people griefing you by grinding over you in the same spot you either flag on them them and get karma bombed by low gs players or you guild dec them (assuming they are in a guild normally griefers aren't) if you don't wanna get karma bombed, can't dec their guild and don't want to give up your spot what options do you have, dueling for the spot is the quickest way to resolve the issue and most people will accept the duel. if they don't you can play a game of who has the most time to waste.

In a video gmae however where one of the main parts of the game is "open world pvp" to expect people to go by first come first served is dumb, not everyone has hours to wait for people to finish thier own grind, or have time to swap servers constantly. and to be honest the pvp you can get from salty people refusing duels and then just killing them can start fun gvg's which is better than the grind overall.

If game have shared world spots why you enforce people to your made up "rules", then developers should just make personal zones to farm with no time limit, as a new player i just wont join guild or join small dead one, kill me how many times you want

@@tsj8726 It's a simple matter of common courtesy. I was there first, there's other grind spots within the zone. I usually just move to another spot or server if I see someone grinding. Unless I REALLY want it, then I'll request a DFS. If they don't want to or ignore it, then I switch servers or go to another zone. People, such as you apparently, just being assholes, taking advantage of the karma system. To each their own.

It's this simple. cron price was already 2m when you can only grind 50-60m/hr if you're a endgame player now a tuvala maegu can grind 500 - 1bil+/hr and you can also get free 80+ daily crons in the Pit of Undying. PA is just slowing down the 730GS+ progression because all of their new players will have nothing to do in just a few months if they let it continue.

You basically just told everyone you don't know as much about BDO. Most new players don't even know about the cron vendor or how valuable cron is until they actually reach mid-game till end-game which will slowly start affecting them. Overall, it will still affect endgame players more than any other players. Don't forget that Bicep also mentions repeatedly that the game is constantly changing. They will add a new spot to grind with better silver/hour. People are blowing these crons changes way out of proportion. The majority of people in real life don't even understand the economics of the their own country, so I highly doubt they know BDO...
