I just bought one of these at a thrift store for $4.00. I have arthritis in my hands, so I use my fore arm to push it down. No problems. So far so good, on apples and carrots.

1.use the slap chop 2.the *slap chop* I find is great for sandwiches. They aren’t my favourite sandwiches (mine being strawberry jam and chocolate spread on white bread and tuna mayo on brown) but it’s great for egg mayo sandwiches eg.

its basic mechanical mechanism... one is pushing down other is a lever. doesnt take rocket science to know that the level mechanism is more powerful with less force... Thus working better. Additionally the first item they show, they show it chopping onion fine on larger sqaures then doesnt work well on the smaller grid of squares... obvious mechanics/physics again... it will take more pressure as there are more pressure points AKA more pushing down force... Something a Lever can do much easier ... aka why you say the second one is better.. because it is design wise..

2/5 marks, first mark for identifying that a lever motion is a more efficient use of energy than a pushing motion as more energy is transferred through the motion into the vegetable. Second mark comes from identifying the fact that the larger squares would exert force over a smaller area and therefore less force would be required. The last three marks you missed come from your use of language and for failing to mention the appropriate equations, which would have been Pressure = Force/Area, as well as output force * distance from fulcrum = the input force * distance from fulcrum. Overall you have the right idea, you just need to include those few points to get the marks required. Remember to check through the formula sheet to find anything relevant, it can help recall the concepts you learned in class.
