Having skated these multiple times, I love this shoe. Then again, just about every fallen shoe I've skated recently has been too notch. As a die hard vulc guy for many years, what you said about the cup sole is true, but it's starting to feel more comfortable than a vulc. With the new fallens, this shoe especially, I wouldn't skate them straight out the box. If possible, use them as chillers for a bit & purposely bend the shit out of them lol. If not, some work with a heat gun/blow dryer can help. These last really long & besides it being supper stiff at first, I have no complaints. Definitely skating another pair in the future

Just got the new Knicks colorway of them in white leather and they’re just as sick as my green pair from back in the beginning of skating them! Perfect shoe all around, and an excellent review of them! Love all your reviews, very fair and entertaining and you show yourself using them just like all the rest of us skating them. Love the Trooper reissue. For Fallen I recommend true to size for the vulc models and half a size up for the cupsoles.

Had a pair of Troopers the first time Chris Cole was on Fallen. Have a pair now. It's always been a solid shoe, like you say, but it's amazing how much lighter they've gotten.

One of my favorite shoes from 10(?) years ago. I’m glad fallen is back and brought the troopers with them. Just ordered 2 pairs.

To answer your question about heights over 5ft they're one of the best choices you can make for flying downstairs. Me and my friends grew up in the time period of jumping gaps, stairs and handrails in the early 2000s I graduated high school as a pro skateboarder in 2010 and fallen was my shoe of choice I was sad to see them go under. The new trooper is very similar to the former slimline trooper it feels almost exactly the same and I've skated about 20 copies back in the day and two recently

The insoles look real thick! Love the simple throwback design of the shoe too. I hope Fallen can stay relevant for a long time but I know how competitive the skate shoe industry is with the big Nike and adidas brands dominating and having all the money

So I’ve been skating this shoe for a little over a month, and I didn’t like it at first, but man I’m glad I kept using them, took me about 3 sessions to break them in, but once they were they felt great, the shoe is very grippy, which I like, and super durable, the only exception is the laces will tear, but just put some super glue on the and you’ll be fine, after about a month I have yet to tear through anything yet, the heel is close, but the toe cap still has a ways to go, this shoe is very sturdy and secure, and I really liked that feeling compared to other vulc or thinner shoes, makes me feel more confident in my tricks

Before I even start the video lol I had a pair of these prolly 12 years ago they lasted me so long even with the old tech. It sounds like they haven’t changed much. Wore them to school and skating. I missed seeing that old trooper logo still on the insole. I’m riding Janoskis right now I might have to check these out again just to have a pair

These shoes break in fantastic! Even Chris cole himself microwaves them, runs them over with a car and sands them down on grip tape. I like to layer an extra insole in them though.
