Chris was the lead singer for Soundgarden & Audioslave. He definitely has one of the most unique, recognizable voices in rock. "Black Hole Sun" by Soundgarden & "Like a Stone" with Audioslave are both well known if you need a starting point, but anything he sings sounds great.

This version makes you miss everything. An ex, parents, family, people you never knew. It even makes me miss my dog when i was in elementary school. It cuts deep. But in a good way.

They say there is a fine line between madness and genius. I believe that is especially true in the music world. My favorite characters were the very troubled souls who poured all their emotions into their performances. There are so many, it's really sad and Chris was certainly one of them, RIP. What a singer and what a song! I own an album of Chris's called "Nobody Sings Like You Anymore". It consists of 10 covers of songs that Chris particularly loved. This song is one of them. My personal favorite on this album is Chris's cover of the Lorraine Ellison classic "Stay With Me Baby". Many people have covered this beauty, among the most notable Bette Midler, Terry Reid, and Chris Cornell. Chris does a fine job. I think you would enjoy it. However, another cover of this song is IMO the absolute best rendition. Stay With Me Baby, sung by another late, great troubled soul- Steve Marriott. His version is a much simpler version with little background except a very soulful harmonica and some sisters singing background. Steve sings every note with such pain and emotion, it gives me goosebumps. It's no wonder why he is considered by his peers as the greatest white soul singer. I'd be very happy if you would give it a listen, I have no doubt you would be blown away.

Charles played msuic for decades and never made it, yet in his late 50's he finally got his name out there, and covered this Black Sabbath song, and made it his own, he owns this song now.
