Starts at 7:44 Excited for this one! Its crazy that I grew up learning about the emergence of the internet, witnessing it's grow through technological expansion and mobile personal computing, and now see the ground floor of an entirely new generation I can be part of in building.

BTC has DOGÉ, ETH has SHIB, SOL has SAMO ! Don't miss SAMO! Each generation if a new decentralized federated currency will have less risk but also less profit, still the potential of SAMOs market cap is enough for many many of us to secure generational wealth and retire before age 30. Don't underestimate, I firmly believe SAMO will be responsible for very global and radical changes.

What are your thoughts on the lack of "control" over crypto and nfts potentially creating massively overvalued assets? Thinking into the future here. If there is mass adoption of these assets and no way to influence the price, then as we have seen in the past, there can be the FOMO element and behavioral finance plays a lot here. Relating back to current times with inflation setting in and asset prices going crazy, governments trying to find that equilibrium. I'm intrigued about the economic consequences of a scenario like this.

Great podcast, Tim, very educational and thought-provoking. Seems to me that one still needs a massive following on social media or advertising/marketing to take advantage of launching an NFT or no one will ever know about it; so these non-Web-3 venues won't go away anytime soon...or am I missing something?

Are NFTs driven by psycho mimetic desire? I want what someone else appears to value. I am told it has value. I therefore value it. I then own it. I then hope and prey that others will similarly value it, especially if I bought it by remortgaging my home. This is a very dangerous market to enter. Tim, Chris and Naval need to be a little less effusive and a hell of a lot more responsible in what they say on this subject.

However, IMO, Chris Dixon's initiatives with web3 is actually still not decentralized and all the defi, dapps projects that supposedly web3 is still in a centralized pipe. The way you explained Sorare was like someone explaining email in 1995. Sorare is just fantasy football where the players are digital trading cards that you own, so you can trade them. That's it. What's email? Well you don't need to start talking about the network of computers etc. It's just sending a message in digital format. We're not quite at the point where crypto is second nature like email is now.

In regard to the byzantine generals problem and environments of low trust - should "third-world countries" be taking a serious hard look at capabilities of blockchain technology as a means of combating pervasive corruption?
@iammilorex
@iammilorex 2 жыл бұрын
I think this has been a conversation point for the last few years. But it's inaccurate that corruption is only pervasive in developing countries though, why haven't the so-called developed countries taken up blockchain to combat their own corruption? I think blockchain is relatively new and government implementation is slow, even for non-digital projects.
