As soon as the cowboy mentioned the bikers jacket I knew there was gonna be understanding there. My Dad passed In 2016 at age 88 and still had the jacket he wore since 1948. Garth Brooks has used LeDoux’s shoes as a template for his concerts. Check out Chris LeDoux’s son Ned LeDoux. He sounds a lot like his dad. Ned along with Chase Rice recorded this song and sampled parts of Chris’s voice in it. This song is a great example of how the world needs to live. The thing I always loved about this song, that some people don't catch onto, is that he had no intention to fight, but being a great storyteller, he was able to bullshit gus way out of an ass beating. The hat likely had no connection to any of those people😅

Not necessarily I have my own dads cowboy hat and if it fit me I would be wearing it everywhere. A lot of people like to keep things like that. Things that belonged to a lost loved one. Some like my younger sister keep the things at home only others like me. Would be using them if they can like the hat in the song and my dads hat.

RIP cowboy. I've listened to a lot of worn out tapes by Chris Ledoux. 1976 NFR bareback bronc champ, riding Stormy Weather. As George Strait said, "Chris was the real deal."

That hasnt always been true. There had been issues in the early seventies between bikers and cowboy at frontier days.
