Thanks for the review. My husband wrote this song and it’s based on a true story. Chris was an awesome person and good friend. He was definitely the real deal.

Chris Ledoux was an actual cowboy, not a pretender that so many country artists are today. He was one of the all time greats for sure.

Chris was one of the very few country singers of the last few decades who actually walked the walk. He was never truly mainstream because he stuck to his roots in Wyoming and never really played by the rules in Nashville. But he’s quite possibly the most popular “independent” country singer of all time and is beloved by the community. His son Ned is carrying on his legacy these days.

Y'all knocked me out reacting to Chris Ledoux. I loved that guy. He was a total original, and wrote very personal songs. One of my favorites you might try is "Western Skies", where he directly answers "why won't you just act like all the other country stars?" Thanks. This was a good experience.

Gary Allan "Right Where I Need To Be". Yall need some faster paced country. It's not all so slow and sad. I think you guys would dig this big time.

For those that don't already know, a Blue Northern, that he speaks of in this song, is type of bull. So when he says that 'you'll rope an ol' blue northern and milk it till it's dry' it means you'll rope a bull and milk him till he's dry long before you take this cowboy's hat. The song took on a whole new meaning when I learned just that little fact.

Garth learned how to entertain a crowd from Chris. Chris was a rodeo rider who sold tapes of his music out of the trunk of his car at rodeos

I got to meet Chris when I was a young boy. He was such a nice person and he let me carry his rig to the mounting area. He climbed on the rankest bull I've ever seen and he pulled off an 8 second ride. As he came off he gave me his cowboy hat. I still have it today.

Chris LeDoux was one of the last great country singers who was a real cowboy. He was a champion bronc rider. Sadly he passed away back in the early thousands I believe. Has a lot of great songs, though. Some story ones, some funny ones, some love ones.

Chris Ledoux was a real rodeo badass. He was champion cowboy and began singing to entertain his friends on the rodeo circuit. He was basically only famous around the rodeo. In 1989,

Touching a man's hat is like spitting on him...whether it has sentimental value or not.
