This video answers the question: Can I discuss the mental health and personality aspects indicated in the Chris Watts/Nicole Kessinger emails. I talk about the theory that these emails predicted the affair and that they may have indicated certain personality features, such as Cluster B personality pathology (specifically antisocial, narcissistic, and borderline personality disorders).

As a guy who used to flirt a lot ; that email response of him telling her thanks and to have a nice was definitely EXTRA. There’s no need for a response there . That’s definitely something most guys would do as a test to see if they could get this ‘professional’ girl to respond in a ‘friendly’ way as opposed to the stale , generic, business talk . He definitely wanted something more and to see how far he could get . She obviously didn’t stop him and wanted something too , so there you go.

I love your educated insight into their state of mind! Chris is so psychologically complex and I think that's why this case is still on everyone's mind and has intrigued us all. He's every wife and child's worst nightmare!!! Has the "good guy, good husband, good father" image, all the while a monster is lurking just under the surface, a snake ready to strike, so to speak. Chris himself said he told NK from day one he was married and I think that's why she texted "Thanks for being honest with me this morning." Still, she pursued him and used every female wile in the book to get him!! Those texts tell me that NK wanted Shannan's life. She wanted her man, her house, her lifestyle, and to "give Chris a son," something she knew Shannan was about to do. I think Nicole's state of mind was insane jealousy, rage and determination to get what she felt she was entitled to. Her sense of entitlement is astonishing to me! She damn well knew Shannan was pregnant, as it was all over FB and she'd been googling Shannan since way back in 2017! How could she not know that?? She lied over and over to detectives about that part too. And what mistress isn't going to google the man she wants and his wife??? Good video, Dr. Grande!

I agree, apart from CW being psychologically complex. He's unintelligent and is now someone who gets excited about getting mac & cheese in prison after not being able to control his rage at a life he no longer wanted. He was like an oversexed teenager with NK, and much preferred that escapism to being a husband and father with a shitload of debt. He had a weak personality, so gravitated to strong, if not domineering women like his mother, and had very little experience with women before getting married. NK offered him sex and lots of it, and none of the humdrum, debt-ridden drama of adult life. He's definitely not complex by any stretch imo, with respect.

After the ice cream with nuts incident, and Shannan leaving and telling Chris that she (and the kids?) will never see his parents again, and Chris went to visit his parents alone. I have always wondered what they all discussed, because you know Cindy HAD to talk about that incident with Chris. (Letting him know for the millionth time how ‘awful’ Shannan is) and I’m sure the Dad had an earful from Cindy prior to Chris coming over. Anyway, I just can’t shake the feeling that the Dad must have said something like (when Chris discussed the affair with him) ‘Child support and alimony are going to be very expensive. Blah blah blah’ and maybe what Chris heard in his warped mind was, ‘…is expensive. So you’ll have to kill them all to avoid that.’ Then again, as vile as his parents continue to be toward a dead woman and her family, they might have advised him of that very thing. The Watts family, in my opinion, all have very serious issues.

I'm certainly not blaming Shan'nan because she deserved to stay in the home along with her children and perhaps Chris threatened her so she didn't want to rock the boat, however, she should have separated from him as soon as talks of divorce started. When I separated from my husband, he was gone. Out the door. Given the fact that the first 2 months of separation is the most dangerous for women, they need to physically separate themselves from the husband. And if he wants visitation, try your best to stall until the court has made its decision. If the husband has been violent towards you in the past, he will probably turn that violence towards the children. I don't know why courts give men custody and visitation if he was violent towards the mother of the children. That's just insinuating it was the mother's fault.

Where do you get that impression? Cindy seems perfectly normal. She might be the more dominant spouse in her relationship with Ronnie, but she doesn't seem domineering or aggressive. Honestly, (and I'm not blaming the victim here. What Chris did was absolutely unjustifiable) Shanann seemed like a complete nightmare of a daughter-in-law. She flipped out when Cindy encouraged Shanann to use the ice cream incident as an opportunity to show Cece not to always expect to get your way. Cece acted bratty and was probably used to having whatever she wanted when she wanted and it's telling that Shanann saw nothing wrong with that.

If anything this entire gut wrenching horror show has taught me is to be extremely hesitant to believe what comes out of someone mouth, and even after still give them the side eye. Actions truly do speak volumes louder than words. Don't count on anyone else to take care of you 100% emotionally or physically. Love yourself (and your kids) first above all. That’s not necessary. The entire human race doesn’t need to become paranoid because of a toxic couple. Yes… both were toxic. She admitted to being a control freak while he was a beta who agreed to everything because… well… he DIDNT have balls. She was overbearing and he resented her but kept it hidden deep inside until one day he lost his shit and killed her. I just finished watching this video, "Chris Watts | Exposing Nichol Kessinger’s Dark Past | Into The Abyss". This was so disturbing. So, of course I was not surprised to see you made a video talking about Cluster B personality and Nicole Kessinger! At the very least this woman needs to be charged with Obstruction of Justice, because before she came to law enforcement, she deleted all her phone records of her relationship with Chris Watts, plus asked her friend to delete the messages between them that included Chris Watts, and she encouraged Chris Watts to delete their shared communications. That is clearly obstruction of justice!

(Roxy Music, 1975, Love is the Drug, Sirens) Most people know that feelings are temporary mood states, but desperate people do desperate things which make them more desperate, so they seek their addictive behavior or substance even more desperately. Whatever huge surges of feel good brain chemicals happened mutually whenever they connected that they mistook for a permanent state and were willing to commit murder for......it's like vacationing in a beautiful tropical resort and thinking that you would always be happy if you moved there. Pretty doesn't count for much in an affair it's how that person makes you feel that matters Shanann was a much more sophisticated woman loved her girls and wanted a betterway of life and was very beautiful ! NK was lower class just listen to her horrible voice and speech pattern definitely not a pretty woman very average and slutty type. More on CW's level he said she took his breath away this was his type of woman one of the guys type of girl. Another example look at Prince Charles and Princess Diana she was far better looking than Camilla no comparison! But Camilla had what Charles needed in life Diana did not, so again it's how someone makes you feel when your with them. Now why CW decided murder was the appropriate way out of a marriage only he and the Dr Grande's of the world know that answer. Shanann would have done a great raising her 3 kids without CW, she just had to make up her mind she could. But he didn't give her that chance, tragic😔 CW belongs locked in a cage.. luckily he IS for good! What a waste all around. He had no right to murder anyone.

You might do well to understand the world with a touch more balance. Domestic violence is extremely common, and is a result of two parties acting badly. Often, the man fires the bullets, but it is the woman who loads the gun. Societies problems will not be solved by simply punishing the man, we need to put equal resources into educating the woman to behave in a respectful manner in order to prevent the violence occurring.

Good video, Dr. Grande. I think CW has severe mental health issues. I do believe he wore a "mask" to conceal his true self from others, he was a master at mimicking good behavior. So, he goes into this affair. For lack of finding better words, did this just completely spin his brain out, was something he couldn't control? He was making mistakes ( he was normally so correct), acting out of character. What about him wearing those energy patches, his elevated heart rate, constant working out combined with everything else? I find him terrifying. I think NK was young, very wreckless, naive, and she had no idea just how demented CW was becoming. She had no way of knowing. He was wearing a separate mask for her and her alone. He was also impulsive and rage filled, and he kept Shannon on the tenterhooks of covert Narcissistic abude. She was under so much stress and unwell...and he finally snapped when she probably confronted him about being distant and whether he's having an affair and threatening to leave him and that gave him a huge Narcissistic injury, his primary supply threatening to leave, and he foolishly and impulsively thought if he killed her and the kids he would be able to get away with it and start a new life with NK.

Thank you Dr Grande... I found this so interesting due to your focus on the affair behaviour... would you consider doing another vid that digs into how people in affairs behave more generally from your experience of dealing with those in this state? My hubby met someone and continued talking online for 2 mths before leaving me and our child... I think you are right when you say that they have a reckless disregard for the marriage and also that their view about the consequences of their actions changes significantly while in an affair... but these online emotional affairs (whether they start with an in person meeting in person or not) seem to be becoming so common and it is tearing families apart! But the person caught in it absolutely cannot be reasoned with and totally believe they have found the holy grail and it is worth destroying other lives to have it... more insight on this temporary insanity (or is it more of a longstanding issue within them?) would be great... thanks again...

Most affairs do end badly. Affairs make people 'lose their mind'. CW clearly lost his mind in extreme. It is all SO sad. If CW was madly in love with NK, how might this have affectedly his brain? Is it theoretical that his pre frontal cortex / executive functioning might have gone badly off kilter? I've watched all the sad sad you tubes about this sad case, and I still can't decide if very pre meditated OR it became a possibility in his mind as a result of the extreme effect the love affair had on his brain. Whether he really did future fake her or whether she played herself, I don't think we'll ever know. Maybe he just let her think whatever she wanted to. Can we do an analysis on Shannon; I mean she was in a total of ten pyramid schemes. At the time of her death she was simultaneously involved in several. No matter the money lost, she still went further in. Everything she did revolved around her latest MLM; I'm convinced her getting married and having kids was just a way for her to further her chances of getting to Diamond or whatever.

Brilliant movie on this topic: The Paperboy (director Lee Daniels) starring John Cusack as a deranged man imprisoned for killing a sheriff who magnetizes the very bored, empty, low expectations, seductive Nicole Kidman, who thinks he is just misunderstood and railroaded. Also starring Matthew McConaughey as a self destructive, masochistic journalist who returns to a small Everglades town where his young brother, played by Zac Efron vainly tries to keep him from harm, and Macy Gray who tries to be the mother figure both boys lacked. Screenplay by Pete Dexter from his novel.

The attraction to NK is that she doesn't have kids. Yet he goes after women who say they WANT KIDS . Then he feels trapped when kids happen. He doesn't process a thought all the way to the end. Even the way he speaks, the sentences are made up to 4 words long it seems. He's got some sort of numbness in his personality, he behaves a certain way cuz it's considered normal, but doesn't differentiate between psychotic break, and normal. Thrive' did not help at all! I wouldn't be surprised if it was found to be a couple grades under meth. But before the Thrive, this guy just floated through life, and then suddenly blamed his wife for not experiencing life. All this is narcissistic, but it's something else too. Like he was deprived oxygen in the womb- there's an emotional detachment like a birth defect.

I don't think you can do a whole lot with just the work emails but you definitely did an excellent job with what you have. But then there is a lot in terms of the psychology of both these people if one is to base what one sees on the rest of the discovery plus things that CW said (if one is to believe anything that comes out of his mouth since he seems to mix truths and lies). NK told her friend Charlotte that men she dated were usually non-committal. And that this man was different. I think she had an attraction to unavailable men and then wanted to change them into available people and that was her task. My theory is they both started an extramarital affair (both fully knowing) that later became a demand to get rid of wife and children.

More likely she didn't really want to get married, regardless of what she said. She had said before that she attracted married men, and apparently she didn't demand they get rid of wife and children. @@catspajamas2961 of course theres no evidence to support my opinion, but there are some red flags with nicole that i cant ignore, she seems to be very manipulative and i believe the reason for her saying 'nice' things about the kids and 'helping' chris plan his future are all tactics to make her appear as a nice, kind innocent woman. In reality we know that she didnt give a fuck about the kids or chris marriage. .She was going in to the family home unbeknownst to Shannan, which is highly disrespectful. She kept saying she felt uncomfortable going into "their space" but she still did it multiple times, probably to be nosey and i believe Nicole and chris had sex in that house for a thrill, no doubt. . She repeatedly planted seeds in Chris head that she wouldnt stay with him if he didnt leave his family, she wasnt cool with being a mistress like shes making out, she probably argued with Chris about it all the time. .She kept saying she didnt want kids and she was upset that she wouldnt be his "first" wife and babymama. .She said she was encouraging Chris to fix his marriage but at the same time was having sex with him 3-4 times a day and pushing him to think about his future without Shannan, telling him to pawn his wifes ring, telling him to check the market value of his house. There is a reason why Shannan said she feels guilty about Chris killing them, she felt like she played a part because she DID. The final flag, Chris told her his family was 'gone', she responded "what have you done", which indicates she was aware he was capable of such a thing. She then immediately deleted all their phone history and searched the internet about the scott peterson case and how much money his mistress amber frey recieved for her book deal. I believe Chris had alluded to her many times that he wanted his family "gone", That he wanted them to dissapear and that he wished he met Nicole first, and Nicole soaked it all up because she a narcissist, she felt good with him telling her this, a normal person would be disgusted that someone would wish for their kids to dissapear, and be concerned about it. Nicole fed his vile thoughts and she may not have expected him to go through with murder but she gave the fantasy life. There is also new footage of nicole leaving the family home on the day of the murder.. Shes trying to play the 'gullible mistress role', when she is actually a conniving bitch, she wanted to ruin that family from the beginning, she was jealous of shannan, she keeps gushing about what a lovely life Chris had with his beautiful wife and cute kids and big house, she wanted to destroy that. She pretended not to know who shannan was but had searched her up online a year before. She is full of shit

@@Neesi392 I agree that she appeared concerned about being found involved or her actual involvement thus the wanting all emails erased. My take is that, giving her suspicious behavior and given all the interactions (long phone calls, meetings, etc.) surrounding when the murders took place, that she's involved more that she is saying and I also feel she is trying to misguide people about her involvement (saying she didn't know he was married, he told him to go fix things with wife, etc.) I feel that she either knew more or influenced things more than she's wanting anyone to know and she is covering her tracks. It is possible, as you said, she may have been surprised he went through with it (did not expect it) or, ust like Chirs, she didn't anticipate he would be found out (didn't anticipate someone would call the poilce so soon before all things were taken care of).

en cee I'm not saying NK is a good person. But getting Shanann killed wouldn't make her his first wife. All of the things you list are evidence that NK is a selfish disrespectful person. They are not evidence of involvement in a murder plot, which is what's relevant. If Chris hadn't wanted a mistress, he wouldn't have gotten one. NK was a tool for him, which is what everyone in his life was if he was a psychopath. She was just the latest one. If it hadn't been her, it would have been another woman, and pretty soon too, I bet. The fact that she said, "what have you done?" (if true) tells me that she did not know what he had done. If she had been involved, she wouldn't have needed to ask. When someone makes up "facts" out of thin air, then passes judgement on someone based on their made up "facts," I know that the person is projecting their own fears onto the situation, not looking logically and objectively at the situation and analyzing based on genuine facts. It's really just a self-indulgent waste of others' time to post your own paranoid imagination and pretend it's an analysis. You walk down the street and you probably just walked by someone having an affair, and by a selfish homewrecker and they're saying the same kinds of things NK said. But there aren't hundreds of spousal murders a day where you live. There aren't many Chris-es around. I doubt NK had any idea the kind of person he is. Do you go around outraged about all the mistresses where you live? I bet not. NK is just the one you know about. She's not some unique monster that you need to analyze for paragraphs and go after for months on end. She's everywhere. You just don't have the emails and personal details on the others.

One thing untalked about is loneliness. Chris was lonely in his marriage and NK was a single person and wanted love. Loneliness is brought up in addiction and often determines between use and addiction. I think the lure of intimacy and love just appealed to them both.

I think it’s scary that some people actually are willing to do a crime themselves to “get even” with NK. Where will it end? Infidelity isn’t illegal in USA, so she didn’t do anything wrong except falling in love with the wrong guy. I think it's important in videos like this to say somewhere that none of these disorders were/are a direct cause of the murders/the crime. The overwhelming majority of individuals with cluster B personality disorders (and diagnoses in general) would never commit violent crimes (I'm specifically discussing Murder, R*p*, Strong armed robbery, etc. not the run of the mill fist-fight). We still don't understand much about criminal psychology in relation to psychopathology, as diagnosis isn't enough to predict who will do what. As with everything in the field it is extraordinarily complicated/multi-factored.
