However, even though Draymond is mostly a forward/smaller player, (I know he plays positionless), he wasn’t as involved on the perimeter as he could be, mostly being a (very good) Swiss Army knife/help defense player.

Right now draymond is easily the best defender in the nba. They guy has great reaction speed, defensive recovery, he is an excellent perimeter defender, and most of all his defensive iq is insane. Ofcourse when going against certain guys there isnt anything you can do once they get in their spots like kd or joel. But he is great at forcing guys out their comfort zones, and is a really good help defender

I always thought that Anthony Mason, Bobby Jones and Nate Thurmond are the most underrated great defenders in the NBA. You could even throw in that Russian dude that played for the Utah Jazz. I'm sure Kawhi Leonard is a excellent defender as well.

Scottie is my favorite player of all time, but none of these had close to the impact defensively of an Hakeem or David Robinson or other great defensive centers. The spurs literally went from 3rd in defense in 96 to dead last when Robinson got hurt and played only 8 games in 97.
