Ethel was truly Dot’s Best friend and she was right Nick Never changed.

One thing I've noticed about Nick is he flips from one thing to another - he's kind to Dot until he doesn't get his own way then shows who he really is (in this instance by damaging her stuff before he leaves). John Altman was good at playing the sociopath that is Nick Cotton.

Great cast Dot Nick Pat Frank etc when it was worth watching.

Frank Butcher was a legend so very talented

Poor Dot. That was such a great storyline - showing how a religious and pious woman struggled with a heroin addicted thoroughly evil son.

Ahh, I miss Mike Reid 😔 I used to love eastenders in the 90's, back when it was best thing on tele, before sky and the dog shit on nowadays

i thought these older episodes of eastenders were classic.and it showed society and survival poverty drink etc.and yet still surviving and also showed the power of community spirit etc.community spirit helped them aswell homelessness etc.

Nick could always wrap (well almost always) Dot round his finger

john altman was brilliant as nasty nick. Heard all the time filming he wasn't allowed to shave, wash/ cut his hair. Must have been hell those months
