I love how the trucker clearly enjoyed the name “Big Poppa” on his truck, so the crew IMMEDIATELY changes it and paints a completely different aesthetic. If he’d said “I worked as a corpsman/medic in the military” or something, I’d understand the medical theme. But, he didn’t. They just forced it in there because they didn’t want to try to slap together a Notorious B.I.G. theme that he might have actually liked.

My dad was a trucker most of my childhood and I can tell you without a doubt given the choice between an ugly truck that runs perfect and a pretty truck you have to work on constantly most of them are gonna choose the pretty truck. Its like a dating a hot girl who's extremely high maintenance. They'll put in the work. PS my dad used to watch this show every night he was home😅

I can tell you as a former trucker, there is NO way that truck was being used beforehand. They used a junk truck. Or just went ahead and busted lights and crap out to make it look worse, but if a dot officer saw that truck, it would have a red tag slapped on the door and wouldn’t legally be allowed to move from the side of the road until it was fixed.

I've suggested it before, but surviving Ted Nugent aired on VH1 when I was a kid and it was absolutely wild. He took a bunch of people to his ranch and even chased them through a field with a helicopter shooting nets at them. I would absolutely love it if you covered this, and I don't think anyone else has.

A family friend of a family friend actually once had his truck done by this show. They asked him what he did and didn’t want on his truck. The truck in question was Allegiance. They put a hay stack in his sleeper (because he was southern) and he took it out as soon as he left and told them he didn’t like that. Needless to say that part wasn’t on tv

Also, I did minimal research and found that they did do some mechanical work in the trucks. They didn't redo them to to bottom which would be 300k, but they would do what they could mechanically like replaced airlines and leaks.

What’s funny about this episode you chose is that it’s abundantly clear to any truck driver that they pulled that truck out a field where it was rotting for years, got it barely running and had them rebuild it. The thing had moss growing on the hood.. that wasn’t his daily driver 😂

I actually liked the paint job on this one for once. But yeah the engine probably needed a rebuild and the interior... They always do shit these guys don't need. Your criticisms were pretty on point. My dad has been a truck driver for like 40 years. BTW the new trucks have a lot of problems as well due to weird California specific regulations. The have crazy high pressure fuel injector systems now. One fuel leak and the engine can catch fire with 15 foot high flames. I saw a massive fuel truck engine catch fire in Montana riding with my dad in his truck. It was effing intense. BTW you have a great channel Chris.

First of all, I do realize that roasting the show is the whole point of this channel and you do a great job with the comedy! You do a great job of picking up on the subtle hilarious things that I otherwise would have missed! This show was pretty cringe! That being said, I would like just to give a little insight on the guys behind this show.. This show was filmed a mile from my house. I know you don’t know a whole lot about the trucking industry, but these guys are huge in the industry. Bryce and Bryan(owners of 4 state Trucks) are great guys. They run one of the largest truck shows in the country, and really know their stuff about fixing up trucks. The reason I say this is because it’s quite obvious you don’t have a clue how big of a deal it is for guys to fix up old trucks and use them for years. Many trucks on the road have millions of miles on them and the owners wouldn’t trade them for a new truck if they could. The comment you made about the guys “just wishing they were getting a new truck” just isn’t true. Semis aren’t like pickups where you put a few hundred thousand miles on them at VERY most and then it’s time to scrap them. These motors will run a million miles, get rebuilt and run another million. Also, Getting a new truck nowadays means having to run the new emissions junk which is a disaster as well as running e-logs, and a lot of guys just simply don’t want to deal with that. Yes, the show was cheesy, but the premise behind it is much different than Pimp my ride. They aren’t just pitting lipstick on a pig, they are taking a truck that may look rough, but does not need to be replaced and making it something the owner is proud to put another million miles on.

The "popcorn line reading" will forever remind me of my drama teacher in High School. He would go off on these tangents about sitautions that instantly make a scene less believeable and one day spent 45 minutes of our 1 hour class just ripping the procedual cop shows to shreds. He was like "I guarantee you if you were presenting a profile on a suspect, and there's 5 people popcorning lines around, they would be corrected in the swiftest fashion. It's too hard to follow, and it's something you would see in a 6th grade geogrophy report and not coming from the FBI.". Literally every time I see anyone on any kind of show reading lines like this, it immidiately ruins it for me.

If they manage to last till the end, they win $100,000. There's 3 seasons, I've only seen 2, the second one they choose 2 peoples, and the female figures it out. Also, Kristen Wiig made her debut on season 1, she was recruited to SNL after it ended.

My main issue with these shows is that they never do actual repairs and just make it look pretty. Half the time, the engine and transmission need work at the bare minimum, along with various other maintainence. These people wind up with the exact same problems in a better-looking cab

I did have a weak left leg, so the cop tested my eyes again. And again. Including the old his finger zeroing in on my nose. He told me to go straight home and go to bed. Gladly, officer. 😅

This was my favorite show as a kid (I actually went to the shop last month) and I guarantee you if this show were to happen today “let’s tear down” would be a meme and I’m still kinda surprised it’s not now

i'm a truck driver with 25 years experience and last 17 as a owner operator i remember watching this show and most of the semi trucks they do more then just paint like a new interior with a latger sound system and a big upgrade on the engine if it needs it I have saw 2 of the semi trucks they have fix up on the show in person they are just badass of a semi truck
