Crash land your Mavic 2 Pro and now the gimbal won't engage? Probably the camera transmission wire. Stick around while I tear down the giant 1-inch sensor camera gimbal and thread a new wiring harness through it! Links to tools and parts below:

It is absolutely not for beginners! The parts are cheap but the labor involved isn't.

definetly not easy but it WORKED thank you!!! as far as the shielding re-install, I recommend not screwing in either sides of the gimbal first and only connecting the little ribbon. It was so much easier that way

Very helpful video! I just replaced the whole gimbal assembly in less than five minutes thanks to you. It's a shame too, because the camera still works on the old one.

Hey thanks so much for that tutorial that help me a lot. For the u shape thing you have to insert it before you put the bearing. It slides very easily

Thanks for the tutorial, I just fixed my friend's Mavic 2 Pro (broken pitch motor, the one nested in camera housing). @TapticDigital to reinstall the U-shape cover, I found it easier to do it before attaching the thick washer and second motor. I think you did it at that point, but in video it is actually mentioned after attaching the washer and motor. Anyway I started with roughly putting the U-shape to the place, then started with the shorter side to snap it in bellow the nested pitch motor, then continue snapping the shape across its length and lastly carefully snapping the other end on the side where the washer will go in next step.

Awesome Video, very helpful! Any chance you have seen a pitch motor not longer sitting flush in the roll bracket? Drone had hit the ground, it has a gimbal overload error at times but all the time the gimbal no longer moves at all. It looks like the left side of the bracket (5min 08 sec mark) no longer sits flush in. Have manually undone both sides and tried to resit but not working. Not sure if its broken the pitch motor or just bent something and so its not sitting straight. When the drone turns on the gimbal moves fine and looks to be in good working order and I am thinking its just due to too much pressure and not sitting properly so the motor cant move it without getting stuck.

Had the error 200 code and replaced the part in this video, as well as the ribbon, now i have video feed but no gimbal movement....help!

Great teardown video, very helpful! The gimbal on my Mavic 2 Pro is having issues, upon powering up it works perfectly fine but as soon as I get it up in the air, it immediately pops up with a gimbal overloading message. The gimbal resets after I land the drone and restart it, super frustrating, I've tried every non repair solution and nothing has worked. What do you think is the problem?

Tough to narrow down, I would check by turning the drone on and picking it up, manually rotating it around to see if there's a certain angle that causes the overload. But in most cases the overload is caused by a very small tear in the ribbon itself.

@@TapticDigital thanks for the advice! I've rotated the drone in different directions and it seems to be fine, just when I get up in the air it starts to overload. Would you recommend a ribbon cable replacement?

@@pianoshorts152 I would at least give it a try. The other possibility is a bad IMU, but that will give you far more errors than just gimbal overload. It would pop up with gyroscope failure warning, and all IMU data would read blank in the menu.

thanks for the video do you have an idea why on my mavic 2 pro the camera won't focus anymore it stay focus at about 1-2 m and when manual focusing or auto focusing nothing change it stays focus at 2m the same so the landscape is always out of focus

I've seen that issue a couple times, unfortunately the fix is usually replacing the camera assembly if the focus motor is damaged. I would check for repairs from DJI first, as the camera module can sometimes cost upwards of $600, and even more in labor if you have it professionally installed.

@@TapticDigital @Taptic Digital ok no dji service here in thailand, so have to do with local technician, so the guy replaced the gimbal for me but now I see there is a problem with focus, do you the focus motor is in the camera itself?

@@NicolasVoisinFilm it could also be the ribbon wire that connects the gimbal and camera to the board, slight damage to that can cause focus and movement issues.

I changed the cable and it still not working I lost some screws though is that something may cause the weight imbalance or something or is should still work… I mean places where three screws go I put 2 and I did touched some parts covered with blue creamy stuff

@@kobabui744 blue creamy stuff 😂. These cables from DJI seem to not go through the same quality control, and I've ended up with several defective ones so unfortunately that may just be bad luck. Thankfully the screws are very light and have no real impact on the balance of the drone, it's smart enough to compensate for any variations.

The flex could produce error 200 in the mavic pro 2 zoom? I have one and the camera does not give me video and the gimbal is not stabilized

Yep, error 200 is almost always a ribbon flex issue. Parts are cheap and definitely replaceable, but the process of replacing them isn't exactly what I'd call fun. I think the repair in this video took me a solid 2-3 hours just trying to get everything routed properly.

I just crashed my drone today. It hit the ground bounced back up into the air and tried kept flying. But now it’s telling me “No Image Transmission Signal” I guess my question is will I find my answer on which part I need to replace when I take it apart? And how would I know what the name of that part is if I want to find a replacement for it online?

Thankfully DJI kept it simple, Image Transmission Signal cable 😉. If you open it up you may find a rip in the ribbon, you may not, either way it is still your first step for repairing the issue!
