There are certain phrases that many Christians mean well when they say it to other Christians, but are taken out of context. Also, depending on the situation, it's not the right time for them to say it. In this video I explore one of the more popular sayings that you'll hear Christians tell other Christians and explain what this means within the proper context.

We won’t be thankful FOR everything. But we can be thankful IN all things. Not because we are happy bad things happen. But because our focus, attention, joy, approval, affirmation and purpose is found in Christ Jesus and him alone and not in our circumstances

This scripture encourages us to find joy in the midst of trials and tribulations, because they help us grow in faith and character. It reminds us that God uses our struggles to refine us and make us stronger. So, whenever you face challenges in life, remember to count it all joy and trust that God is working everything out for your good.

if going through emotions is just being human then explain these 2 Why is it shunned when a guy watches porn why is , Looking at a woman with lust considered committing a sin in your heart ? CONSIDER God creates us We have an urge inside of us emotionally that we cannot control BECAUSE HE PUT IT THERE. the purpose of this urge is to promote reproduction and survival of our species AND GOD SAYS THAT IF WE DO THAT THING, THEN WE ARE SINNING Kinda unfair to create someone with an uncontrollable urge, then say if they do that thing they are sinners

@@martinkuliza Very true. Tell that to the homosexual transgenders who said at a very young age (ie around 6-10 years old), they already knew they were trapped in a wrong body. It seems like they were "born" with a feminine body and mannerism. Many must have resisted this urge to transition but few succeeded. A prominent example is Bruce Jenner who resisted initially for many years but in the end, he caved in due to his "in-born" qualities.

This is why verses should be read in the context within which they was written. I've been guilty of taking things out of context. But since I've started studying scripture I've seen the verses I misunderstood over the years based on how other people use them. James and many of the epistles are about encouraging the early church in the face of persecution and tempations to fall away from the faith back into Jewish tradition and the Law.

Thank you for this. Many years ago my daughter died. Obviously I was grief stricken. I can’t tell you how many Christian’s told me to stop grieving because I needed to count it as joy. Mental problems do not exist, spiritual problems do. This is not to hurt you, this is to help you gain perspective. Once I was depressed so I took Zoloft and I went manic. They locked me up and gave me more meds. They said I would have to take meds the rest of my life. See, I was not walking with Yah even though I grew up in the church. Long story short, many years later I walk with Yah with everything I have. I have NO mental issues, NO depression and I haven't touched their meds in 16 years. Doctors rarely even believe in Yah- their god is science.

@@miso.1993 Yes, it's incredibly hurtful not to mention completely narcissistic. And I don't mean narcissistic in a personal way, but corporately- for the body to dismiss the very real experiences of certain members just because other people's was different is the definition of bigoted. This person probably doesn't realize what they are saying. But they need to put it together. And quick lol I await the day the church stops creating monstrous people who think they are acting angelically. I was there once. Thought I could tell others how their lives could improve, what they needed to do to 'get over it.' Of course, much of this was based on theoretical teachings from the church, which I'd been hearing all my life how to 'reach difficult and struggling people.' Thank goodness God made me struggle even more so I was disciplined out of my 'churchy fix-it' attitude. Programs don't fix people. But proper medical care, a safe community with unconditional support, and prayer can.

God is working with me right now. I resigned from my job because it was destroying my mental health. Last week, my advisor at school messed up my entire program. So far, no success in resolving, but I built my case, printed out 20 pages, and I will bring my case to another advisor. This time, in person. I hope they can fix it, otherwise I will never graduate. I am supposed to graduate in May, less than 5 months. I only have so much money, so I need to find job soon, but I need to update resume after this gets resolved or not resolved. I am a career changer, so I have no experience for the job I am going for. I have no family within 1K miles. Being unemployed doesn't stress me, but the school situation did. I went 24 hours with no food and laid in bed because I was too stressed out. My world collapsed, until I woke up and had a new plan. I hope this gets solved THIS week. Why didn't God tell me this plan right away, instead of making me wait 24 hours. Well, I had to stop fighting, be still, and wait for God's guidance.

My Brothers and Sisters in Christ, I know that all things are working together for my good because I love God and I am called according to God's purpose (Romans 8:28). I can count it all joy because it is conforming me into the image of Christ Jesus (Romans 8:29). But this is a place of maturity in God I have reached. I spend quality time with God, in prayer, seeking God's face, and knowing that God's love for me is protective and everlasting. I don't celebrate the bad. I ask God. "What am I to learn from this?" And I pray that I don't waste the experience. I don't like taking test over.

The other thing that I see constantly amongst the church is twisting "We walk by faith and not by sight" to invalidate the importance of actually processing your feelings. We should be doing the right thing despite our feelings but telling people to ignore how something makes them feel instead of teaching people how to bear fruit in spite of how they feel is hurting the body.

Why don't they seem to understand the most basic things about interpersonal relationships and emotional health? For goodness sakes, I could never live like that. I'd be so afraid of my own self that I'd just do everything under compulsion until I reached a state of total detachment. Which is what they seem to want, sometimes. Not obedience but compliance. I just can't do it. Forced compliance and emotional judgment sends me into the distance 😢

Just wanted to add that when it started to get better for me, was seeing for myself (in the Word) how intensely emotional the Israelites were, especially the men. They would sob loudly, tear their clothes, and cry out to be heard. So, with God, crying out is precious to him, and being stoic makes him sad because then we aren't expressing ourselves fully to him. ❤❤

Count it all joy is correct. Let God be true and every man a liar. We are passing thru this world, we are not citizens of this world therefore whatever trails and tribulations we face we must count it all joy knowing that thru our faith in Christ Jesus, we already have the victory.

Join me in this prayer. Pray God’s will be done on this earth as it is in heaven. Pray God protects and blesses the children. Pray for the truth to be revealed. Pray God lifts the scales from the lukewarm and lost eyes, opens their ears and soften their hearts. Pray God strengthens His children to endure to the end and gives them comfort, Pray the end times harvest will increase. Pray for repentance to fall upon and sweep across the America . Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Pray the traps of the enemy, entrap themselves. Pray what the enemy meant for evil be turned to good ♥️

I have Logos Bible Software" the Diamond Package." Every time I see you break down a Greek word, I try to figure out how you do it. I can't seem to break it down with my logos software. I can find the Lemma Transliterated word "Hypomone" using the Interlinears, but I don't see how you do it. I only can find the sense of the word "patience" which is "steadfast endurance". I understand that (steadfast endurance n. - ) is the power to withstand hardship or stress; especially the inward fortitude necessary. I wish I could break down the word "Hypomone" like you. Anyway, thanks for always making videos for us.

Rejoicing is different than joy. I'd like to think it is the inner joy in Christ that I carry at all times. It's a calm confidence that hurt and pain will pass, that losses will be healed, that health issues can only hurt this worldly tent. And that through it all, Jesus Christ has provided the greatest gift I could ever imagine. That Holy Spirit walks beside and in me to comfort and guide me. Count it all joy today, just losing our beloved dog, means that the heart hurt at his absence will heal, and I can feel a sense of joy in Christ Jesus, regardless of the pain today. I guess it's similar to optimism, but it's solely anchored that God is in everything in my life.

Our Brother James did indeed say to "count it all joy when we fall into various trials." As Believers who understand the context, what an opportunity to disciple! What an opportunity to continue to say what Scripture says, "count it all joy...," while taking the time to expound on our Brother James' intent when he wrote those words; just as you've done here. Shouldn't we look for those openings to say what Scripture says while explaining the context? I wouldn't want to miss the opportunity to engage with a person who lacks that understanding. I also wouldn't want to "not" say what Scripture does indeed say. In fact, I said those words to myself just yesterday. I am in the middle of a study of the Book of James, so your content in this video certainly drew my attention. Blessings to you and thanks for the content, Brother Parr!☺
