2022. I am re-visiting your interior Christmas tours. I did watch these when they were originally posted. Can I say how much I am enjoying them again!! I can see that you have matured and grown in your video style and confidence. It has been such a peasure to watch you and Aaron grow as well as your children. You are blessed and your home is beautiful. The gardens are a marvel!! I had sadly forgotten about Dexter and was trying to remember when he passed. I laughed at the tape on the window you had to put to discourage Russell. Thank you so much for the joy that you bring to all of us (fans and viewers) everyday you post. Your knowledge, fortitude, hands-on gardening skills continues to grow, inspire and entertain. I am 66 and ashamed to say have never tried growing an amaryllis. However, you have inspired me to get moving. Thank you so much for sharng your life of gardening inspiration. Hoping you will do an indoor Christmas tour this year. Hint-hint! Garden Answer We usually put up 2 trees, and it’s my favorite time of the year. This year is a sad one as my mother nears the end of an extremely brave life due to Dementia. You bring such joy to my everyday as my mom had a magical green thumb and I used to kill everything! but now I am the keeper of those plants and somehow my new blooms are growing and I can actually plant and enjoy the “fruit” of my labor...Thank you for sharing the beautiful world that surrounds you!

LOVE the cat in a bag story - it made me laugh out loud. What a wonderful memory to tell over and over as that kind of memory is usually the one that gets repeated and enjoyed year after year. Your home is so lovely and SO Christmasy. Great tour.

Beautiful! My husband and I have made a point of finding a special ornament every year, specific to the places we are visiting wherever we travel. It's usually the only souvenir we buy and very personal to us as a couple. Our travels dont always have to be extravagant vacations, they are often quiet short retreats to recharge. Ornaments are personal mementos that we can reflect upon at the end of the year. As we decorate the tree we can reminisce of those memories one by one and count our blessings.

Thank you for the wonderful tips and ideas! When I was younger and lived in a larger home I had 9 to 12 "fake", themed Christmas trees in many rooms. Living room - all white, crystal icicles, all types including homemade crocheted snowflakes, etc. Kitchen - handmade cinnamon gingerbread ornaments with antique cookie cutters, popcorn chain, mini cranberry wreaths, mini baskets, gingham ribbon. Patriotic bedroom - red, white & blue. Children's bedroom - homemade wood children themed ornaments, rag garland, sitting in an old steamer trunk surrounded by a collection of bears. A snowman tree - lots of the ornaments are from snowmen and jingle bell garlands that I cut up. I love your trees, especially the nutcracker tree!

You have done a beautiful job decorating. I had a bunch of those glittery snowflake ornaments too, and I was covered in glitter by the time I finished decorating my tree. I want to share something we learned by accident this year. We have always had problems with our cats climbing our Christmas tree, knocking off ornaments, etc. This year the live tree we picked is an extremely dense fir, so packed with branches that the cats can’t get in to climb it. All of the ornaments have pretty much stayed on the tree, for the first time in my adult life I’m not spending time picking them up off the floor and putting them back on the tree.

Being a child of a luxury drapery maker, I wanted to tell you just how gorgeous they are! They fit your home perfectly and are were many thousands of dollars! She was quite large and the doctor thought I might be carrying twins so she had me get an xray. Now that is dating me isn't it! They would never dream of doing that now! But this was 37 years ago! The xray showed her little feet pushing up into my lungs! No wonder we are so out of breath at this stage!!! :) But all was well and I delivered a beautiful, healthy 12lb 2oz baby girl!!! Yes, I am watching this video in August...BUT, I love that you talk about cat problems in your video! Wrap-around story: You inspired me to start investing in growing and caring for plants again (I live in a low-lit, small apartment with a covered patio whose sun is blocked by a tree, so I had mostly given up except for some low-light varieties outside). I bought a grow light and some of the correct soil and fertilizers for my new and old plants, and then had to buy an IKEA terrarium for indoors to keep some in because my cats chew, lick, kick, and punish my plants! Rascals! Thanks so much for your videos and inspiration!

A suggestion for your glitter garland, is to pray them with a extra hold or cheap hard hair spray. It acts like a plastic coating. Your tour is so wonderful. Absolutely love your designs. Way to go!

So beautiful! Kitty proofing for Russell will give you good practice for later when you little one becomes mobile! 😊. We don’t use our dining room for that purpose either - we turned it into a music room since both my kids are very involved with a variety of things - my son’s drum kit and other percussion instruments, a keyboard, a guitar, and a place for my daughter to practice her flute. We put in a comfy couch and a small table where they can write and create and it’s a great space.

I had our little girl in November of 2017 and we lived not far from a hiking trail, I remember being so out of breath in those last few months hahaha!

Oh my! I am so late to this party, but I am faithfully watching your videos in chronological order after stumbling across one of your first videos - How to make a planter fountain - last May, during the pandemic lockdown. I ended up making a pond in a large pot with a fountain and 10 rosy red minnows, which have proven to be great stress relief - I had to bring them in for the winter at 7,400 ft in Colorado and 6 out of 10 are still thriving 1year later. Then I saw your Mackinac Island videos and planting along the side of your “new” home with Dexter by your side. Whenever I get some “me” time - waiting in the car picking my kids up from activities, or curling up by the fire on a snow day - I pick up where I left off. I love seeing your changing seasons and growing into your charming home and property, and into parenthood. Even though this video is 3 years past, I was compelled to comment when I saw your “throne” chair. 😄 I recently got one exactly the same shape and upholstered exactly like yours, except in a pink-hued pale plaid fabric and stained a bit darker on the wood - also for $50 at a thrift store. It goes with nothing, but I love it. I put a throw pillow at the back if I sit in it because the seat is so deep! My kitties love it! And then to hear you share your love of music touched my heart. I know you are way beyond this point in your life now, but I am going to continue to catch up with your life one video at a time. Thank you for your inspiration!
