i’d probably pick Memento. I remember we were in Park City for all the Sundance insanity that year and everyone was talking about it. It lived up to the hype for me.

Yes, I forgot how much I liked that movie. I used to own it on DVD and sold it for some reason, but I bought it on Blu Ray recently and really enjoyed the nostalgia of that 2000s era.

Interstellar is one of the best movies ever and I just love Christopher Nolan films, he tries to push the boundaries in film making always , I love all his films.

Yes, he’s definitely a visionary and I hope that Oppenheimer wins a lot tonight including Nolan for Best Director.

Nice1 Steve 👍I'm not the biggest Christopher Nolan fan as I feel that most of his movies are trying to be "too clever for their own good" and are a lot of "style over substance". I am a huge fan of "The Prestige" though, I've seen that one at least four times now and love everything about it. The actors/performances (ALL of them including the side character), the story, the twists, the abstract mode of thinking that it makes you employ, the setting, the fantasy nature of it, the way it looks, the moral questions it raises...I love this movie ! I also really like "Memento", now that is one very clever concept that is very well executed ! "The Dark Knight" would be my 3rd favourite, I didn't think it was as good as everyone else initially because I just couldn't stop thinking "oh ffs ! kill him !" LOL but I find I enjoy it more now than I did in the past and it's a great watch (Heath Ledger is also astoundingly good in it ofc!). They're the only three of Nolan's that I rate highly myself (although I've not seen "Oppenheimer" or "Following" yet).

Yes, a lot of people have described Nolan’s films as style over substance for sure and I can definitely see that and the other is that he’s trying to be too clever, you’re not alone. Yes, I’m worried that Oppenheimer won’t live up to the hype and it seems to be surprisingly polarizing with some people, especially for people that didn’t see it in a movie theater, because people that are seeing it on 4K or Blu Ray for the first time have been disappointed.

@@excelsiormoviereviews I wasn't too fussed about seeing this one at the cinema because as I say I'm not a huge Nolan fan and I think for the type of movie it is there's a more than reasonable chance I wont enjoy it but I'm looking forward to giving it a go at home. I belong to a "physical media rentals by post" service so I'll rent the 4K and if I find I really enjoy it then I might consider buying it (but I'm not going in with any expectations other than I'll think it's "just OK"). I've actually only seen three Nolan movies at the cinema: "Dunkirk", "Interstellar" and "The Dark Knight Rises" (all of which I found disappointing) but I consider myself very fortunate to be able to have a very decent (imo) home setup (very large OLED and high quality 5.1 speakers) so I'm more than fine with a "home watch" on this one.

@@tigerblue42 definitely, home viewing setups done right can make a movie quite enjoyable. I just think that the hype of Oppenheimer is so high that it’s bound to be disappointing. I just bought into the world changing event that J. Robert Oppenheimer was apart of captivated me.

@@excelsiormoviereviews heh, as mentioned I'm not a Nolan fan (aside from The Prestige, Memento and Dark Knight) so I'm already used to all of his movies being massively hyped up, massively well reviewed as "masterpieces" and then thinking they're nothing special so I don't think I can be disappointed by this one 😉I'm just hoping for it to be a "decent watch" or pleasantly surprised 🙂(which is not impossible at all, as you say it was a World changing event "Now I am becme Death, destroyer of Worlds".

I still like Inception the best. Dunkirk was good too but a little hard to follow.
