These definitely aren’t accessible at my Barnes & Noble because it’s the worst. They only have the new releases there. I have to travel an hour away to Roanoke VA to find anything worthwhile.

@@megamoviez that sucks. The small Barnes & Noble that I have in Noblesville IN only has new Criterion releases as well, but that’s an improvement from the last couple of years when they didn’t have any after they gave up some of their space to the store next door.

Great stuff Steve, I really enjoyed Bound. I had 60 bucks to spend and I was going to buy 3 Criterion titles but I decided to take advantage of the Kino Lorber sale instead and ended up with 6.👍

Yes, I really liked Bound much more than I thought I would and to listen to the commentary from 1997 and thinking that they had no idea then that two later they would have one the biggest hit movies of all time. I’ve already earned $10 from my rewards points this month from Barnes & Noble.

@@STEVEHEROLD yes, those are both older movies, but I’ve heard that you can preview a lot of Criterion releases on that platform. I’ve utilized my local library before buying some Criterions and dodged the bullet with an Alex Cox movie called Walker that I didn’t like.

Fantastic list from one of my favorite directors! I had a chance to see Vampires in Toronto at a film festival and it was shown their before premiering anywhere else. The crowd were full on Carpenter fanatics and it was one of the most fun experiences I’ve ever had at a movie theatre.

I’m definitely going to watch All That Money Can Buy soon, but I have to watch Five Easy Pieces first since I’ve wanted to see that one for so long.

Enjoyed, thanks. I have McCabe/Miller 4k, totally love it, great rec. Also have Nashville, but I chose the Paramount version because it has a superior scan vs the Criterion. Criterion used a 2k scan from an inter-positive film in 2013, while Paramount 8 yrs. later upgraded with a 4k scan from the original film elements. But then the Criterion has the better supplements. Either way the film is absolutely outstanding, and maybe Criterion will up the ante with a native 4k disc. I want Bound 4k badly but Amazon has yet to drop price to match Barnes and Noble, and Barnes and Noble sold out online, nearest store too far, will wait it out:)

@@pete49327 yes, it would be interesting if Criterion were to get Nashville back in the collection. That sucks that Bound hasn’t come down in price on Amazon, I buy Criterions through them a lot and I thought that they always price matched Barnes & Noble during the sale, but I’m sure that a lot of KZfaq channels will get the word out as soon as Amazon lowers their price.

Interesting suggestions, thank you. I just happened to purchase The Thief two days ago as my first July sale buy. First saw the film on the Criterion Channel a couple or so months ago and loved it so much I quit it about half way in....because I wanted to own the blu-ray and see it in full in higher bit rate/quality I like it that much. Much agree on Paris, Texas, Double Indemnity, both great. Like and own Grand Budapest Hotel, okay on Royal Tennenbaums, but fav Anderson film is Moonrise Kingdom.

I 💯 agree. I hate people who just try to put people down. When we do our show for Indie Film Cafe we are honest but we never tell people they aren’t allowed to enjoy what they enjoy. There’s a channel won’t say who just does blatant attacks on people. I hate it.

Enjoyed, thanks, new subscriber. I'll pick up about 5 or 6 in July, first two I just received, The Virgin Suicides which will be a blind buy, hope I don't get burned again, and Thief which I had screened on the Criterion Channel. One most excited about is on the way from Amazon, Tie Me Up TIe Me Down, which has just been rereleased after a few years out of print for the blu-ray. Next up is another blind buy, Bound 4k, but Amazon has yet to match BN sales price...BN site is sold out for online. Love Blue Velvet, I have the blu-ray and it looks very good as is from 4k restoration, so no double dip for the new 4k.

I actually haven’t upgraded my Blue Velvet from Blu Ray, but I wanted to let people know that it’s a good one to pick up on 4K during the sale. I haven’t seen Tie Me Up, Tie Me Down yet, but I’m interested in checking it out. I liked The Virgin Suicides, but it’s extremely dark.

Love the artwork on Bull Durham. I bought that one a year or two ago. Need to revisit it. The Breakfast Club is one of my favorites and another I purchased the Criterion version that I haven't got around to revisiting. I have a DVD copy of Blue Velvet. Haven't seen any David Lynch stuff. Need to watch one soon. Do the Right Thing is one of my favorites in my collection. Got a signed Spike copy. Thelma & Louise is another one I recently purchased but haven't revisited since I purchased. Dr. Strangelove is another one I have been wanting to see that I haven't got around. Tempted to upgrade Raging Bull. Great list of recommendations. I plan on trying to get to a Barnes & Noble this weekend and will try to pick up at least one title if I see something I'm after.

@@excelsiormoviereviews I know it won’t be kino lorber. They were supposed to do lost highway but lynch was unhappy with the transfer or something and pulled the plug. All I know is I just got my 4k of blu velvet today and loved it. Studio canal put out an amazing elephant man 4k package. Fire walk, wild at heart and eraserhead 4ks and I’ll be good. I don’t care for inland empire and like you said straight story is kinda the oddball one anyway

I think that it’s quite cool that Lynch could do a conventional movie like The Straight Story and it shows his range as a filmmaker, like he proved to his critics that he has the ability to make any style of movie.

Oh yeah, I have a budget set up for Criterion and I’m going to watch Notorious next. I watched One False Move last night and I really liked the story, but some of the performances needed to have another take and that could be the inexperience of the director.

Correction: An American Saga, not An American Story. I’m giving this 3.5 out of 5 Stars. A more coherent story and editing would have made this much more enjoyable. I’m hoping that chapter 2 will be better.

Big Trouble In Little China is so much fun and I went to a midnight showing 4 or 5 years ago at an Arthouse theater and the auditorium was about a little over half full and we were all loving it, it’s great nostalgia with Jack Burton.

@@Flashtone08 yes, I have that trilogy on Criterion and I really like Before Sunset with Before Sunrise as a close second. Before Midnight bummed me out a bit though. I owned all of them individually on DVD and when I saw that they were on Criterion I had to upgrade them. Great choice.
