I actually dislike how he always tries to bring movies and fame into the interview, especially when he is talking about severe life issues like addiction and violence. But I am glad I get to hear Norris candidly, I wish I could find more simple interviews from him about his life, link me one if you find any. I only see movie interviews

Could DC not have lead into the interview with easier questions? HEH!1 Norris kept his cool from the beginning. That takes inner strength. So many would simply never have gone down that road. To talk about something so painful in his life. As it would be if it were anyone else's life. To have to live with the fact that his real dad was sicck. And as he said back then pepple didnt see it as a "sicknes". Having to carry this around with him the rest of his life. We all have our baggag. How we deal with it.... give CN credit.... Respect him as a martial artist and as a MA film star...and as a person. I''m sure many other actors would have stormed off the stage....

I admire Norris very much. Glen Campbell, a great singer and entertainer loved Chuck Norris and I believe they were best friends because they were much the same, i. e., they were so huge and wonderful in their talents, also they are the most decent, kindest and humble men that worked so hard to do what they do. I wanted so much to meet & get to a Campbell concert but struggled all my life, worked so hard to do myself better financially (blue collar was my life because I could not get to college or get one break so I could do what I really wanted.) Meeting Chuck I would love too. Glen is gone now, so sad to see that dreaded Alzheimers on him...he and Chuck, so decent and good men. I really love/admire them ever since I saw/heard them, their goodness even comes across the screen for me at times. Chuck had the most, the best athleticism...and he so intelligent, he such a good one to hear and see in interviews. Sorry for verbosity but....

Dick Cavett always asks the most awkward questions in the most awkward way. He doesn't know how to lead into difficult questions and doesn't know when to NOT ask. There are some things that quite frankly just aren't our business. If the actor is gracious enough to answer bless them but I'm surprised more of them didn't just say, that's none of your business.

Good interview. Interesting way to end it ....with a joke that oculd have gotten DC "killed" had Norris not been the "calm/controlled" type of celeb. Bronson...ummm...I think DC would have held back and did. Though did still ask a few deep probing questins".... ...interesting how DC managed to get another star to reveal their dark past. How so many "great" people diidnt have a life that was a "bed of roses". A totally happy childhood with zero road bumps. Or bad memories. Or heavy ones.... Makes you then wonder if their millions of $ was worth it....Shrug....
