Good points Chuck. I'm a retired RV Tech building my flatnose /home and one thing I've learned from experience is there is no excuse for mistakes .... LoL , ya right . Yours are really minor. I call my costly mistakes " R $ D " and believe me the greens stack up fast.Soften up that foam on your rubber with Wd-40 and it will chip away faster.

That propane box you can change to a smaller clean water box maybe so you could add a shower in the bus and maybe add washer/dryer depending on how much water/power you have for your bus. I've seen it in another channel, someone else added washer/dryer in addition to shower, etc. Basically, it's a house with wheels. So if you have heat/AC / kitchen / bed then you are completely done. Regarding the water issue if you design a way to collect rain water then just filter it via reverse osmosis then you won't have to constantly fill fresh water all the time.

I was curious about radiant floor heat and possibly looping it into the engine coolant with a thermostat cutoff. Keep it toasty while going down the road. Then have a secondary pump with alternative heat source for when the motor is off. 🤔

My story is worse🤦🏻‍♀️i side swiped a pole in front of a CHP (basically police station) where I was making a tight right turn into their parking lot with my 40' to get VIN verification service from them. They didn't say anything but when they called me back they told me next time I should come from north on the street and make a left turn into the parking lot instead 😂 No incidents since..🤞🏻

Question for you Chuck - since you moved your gray tank inside the frame rails, how are you getting the gray water to it? I have the same 7 window Thomas, and am considering the same location for my gray tank. As always, thanks for the helpful advice and honesty about what it really takes to build a skoolie!

Are you going to fit a reverse cycle inverter split air con? That would be a quick and efficient way to heat up (or cool) ur bus, but a hydronic circuit would have been nice for using ur engine heat in cold areas while travelling. Cheers

If I were you, I would have as many energy possibilities as possible. You might need it some day. I think wiring should not be before the spray foam so that if you need to get to the electrical wires you can. Also, no one is perfect and never will be. We all learn from our mistakes, so that is a good thing. I would put a heated hallway and heat underneath your bed with the diesel heater and the batteries. What do you think?

Recalling the audiophile mantra. Buy cheap, buy twice. Relative to your headlamps. As I look at my frosty, almost can't tell they're on headlamps. Granted 18 years later, for a $12,500 car (NEW). My moms car, which is actually two years younger, is actually worse.

12:30 could you take a set of glass sealed bean bulbs to a stained glass artist or a tile installer and have them cut the front lens out to make you a replacement for the plastic lens? I've done this for Jeep Wranglers and Harley Davidson motorcycles. ☮️❤️🌈

Some of these mistakes have exposed a flaw in your overall design. You need wiring chases down the length of the bus. Ideally one 2" in the roof and one down each side. Spray foam is such a permanent solution that it makes any future changes a real pain. Imagine how much you would thank yourself when you run that new A/V, solar, PEX lines, ethernet, whatever.
