[TW] -Substance Abuse -Alcoholism -Smoking -Suicide Mention Mike isn’t the only one with an addiction. The sad part about all of this: - Mike’s main addiction is smoking, which isn’t a good thing considering it causes him physical pain in his lugs since he died by suffocating. So every time he smokes, it hurts him. - William had an alcohol problem after Elizabeth and Evan died, and it got worse when Mike committed suicide. He eventually stopped once he died, and he can’t really drink… but he gets uncomfortable whenever alcohol is mentioned and can’t help but feel bad because it just reminds him of his worse times. - In the end, they both could understand what the other is going trough, but can’t because of the massive crack in their relationship.

I think in that sense his actual addition is pain, he's most likely gotten so used to being in pain whether it be emotional or physical the pain is what stuck. The self inflicted pain he learned eased his emotional pain briefly and he began to spiral chasing that false sense of calm.

Everyone: crushing your son's dreams, physically abusing him, comparing him to his twin, teaching him boys don't cry so he had no outlet for those feelings, being absent after the death of his younger siblings, probably being homophobic considering his views on what a real man is, etc

It's probably hard for both of them considering their addiction's in the past and now, its really hard to quit, thats the thing people dont understand, it can take days, months or even years to quit on something like that, hope they can both understand eachother more in the near future

"Where did i go wrong?" Everywhere. From your narcisissim to your cruelty, and to not even BEING THERE TO BEGIN WITH. This william has problems i get that. But he has no right to parent mike anymore. He lost that priviledge when he decided to put his hands on his kid. ;P Edit; sorry for any misspellings. I am using my phone, so it's terrible. And no, I do not in any way hate this person's AU. I love it very much. I just hate this William. For...well obvious reasons.

William:Where did I go wrong Comments:EVERYWHERE Me: I think moreso he’s saying exactly where he went wrong. William has shown consistent signs of improvement & admitting to his wrong doings. Hell the fucker even regrets & at least somewhat repents for the shit he’s done. ESPECIALLY to Michael. Hell he’s possibly the only one in the entire goddamn family aside from Elizabeth that can fully understand Mike. Is it true he doesn’t have the right to parent Mike and or tell him what to do? Ofc yes. That’s obvious. He simply wants to FIX things or at least tries. William is showing some improvement but mainly towards his ex wife and eldest son. I disagree that William can fully understand Michael. He’s always had a hard time understanding Michael and he still does, so he is still a bad parent towards him (and also elizabeth). He still shows his narcissistic hurtful behaviour towards Michael and Elizabeth, that’s why they don’t trust him. William never gave them a break growing up (tho Liz didn’t really grow up 💀)

@@cheesecake8368 I meant he could. Doesn’t mean he would, he & Mike physically cannot have a good relationship atm. William with never fully realizing what he’s actually done, and Michael blatantly refusing & or ignoring any of William’s better actions. We see it in the lie detector video. Michael simply cannot see the sliver of good in William like Rosemary & Terrence can. He simply cannot. Is that his fault? Absolutely not…at least before. I’m not here to say he is a great dad or should be portrayed as one. I only said this out of rage for William being seen as the one in the wrong when BOTH ARE. Mike to higher extent but William still takes the brunt of it. In short terms, I hate when it’s all on William to take accountability. Especially in the community.

I’m not here to say William doesn’t deserve any of this. It simply pissed me off personally. I’m not gonna sit here & act like William didn’t do all of this shit. But I’m also not just gonna sit here & feel bad for everyone else when they clearly do fucked up shit like it’s some fucked up game. Pain is pain. Suffering is suffering. I’m not gonna lay down & act like William wasn’t a human being that also went through shit. Along with everyone else.

I feel like even though I’ve seen what William acted like in the past and how he treated Mike. I think Micheal should try to understand his situation and problems. I’m not saying that Micheal doesn’t have the right to be mad at William but there’s no point in a grudge for this long. In the end it hurts them both and it’s not one persons fault.

It’s not just about Michael not understanding his situation, it’s William not understanding the pain he put Michael through. William is a narcissistic parent, he can’t apologize to Michael because it breaks his ego, that’s the main issue. Michael and William has years of a broken relationship, so Michael has every right to hold a grudge. It’s going to take years for their relationship to heal. I disagree that it’s no one’s fault, as in the end it still mainly William’s fault. William literally says “where did I go wrong?” Meaning he still won’t acknowledge how he damaged Michael, that’s why Michael can’t forgive him.
