Everyone around Mustafa tries to convince him to walk towards the throne. However, Mustafa sets off to save his father. Mustafa barely makes it on time but Suleiman gets suspicious because Mustafa has known about the assassination.

Prince Solomon, with his closest man, Ibrahim Pargam Ibrahim receives the bad news in a hunt. His father Yavuz Sultan Selim Khan passed away. Prince Suleyman sets out for Istanbul without waiting. Prince Süleyman quickly reaches the capital. He attends the culus ceremony without waiting. His life changed in one day. He started his life as Sultan Süleyman.
Meanwhile, a galley loaded with slaves coming over the Black Sea is heading towards Istanbul. The hottest of the slaves is not yet aware that he is on a journey that will change his destiny. He is rebelling helplessly to return.

That’s incorrect, when Bayezid rebelled gainer the sultan he was a dead man walking- pashas, Selim, and Sulieman would have been obligated to carry it out. Preventing civil war was the reason the treason and infrantizide laws were in place. Sulieman told Mustafa the same thing, infrantricide wasnt something he or any prince wanted but because it was wanted by the empire it was going to happen one way or another. Plus Chihangir forgets that it’s not just his brothers who would pay a hefty price is Mustafa ended the throne. Sisters and mothers of the other princes were often exiled and in rare cases killed. Think- where were the other concubines of this brothers and father, where were his sisters from the other concubines. Ottoman royalty was cu throat and not all black/ white

Strange that Hurrem has been so busy plotting Mustafa's downfall that it never occurred to her that her own sons would turn on each other. Is she blind to the animosity that exists between Selim and Bayazid? Cihangir seems to be the only one who thinks clearly. An early alliance between the brothers offers the best outcome.

In my opinion, what Hurrem is doing is "one at a time". All her efforts will be putinto waste as long as Mustafa lives, that means, her children would be killed soon once Mustafa get the throne.

Hurrem was always busy giving birth to so many children without thinking the fact that eventually his children would also kill each other to restore the order as like cihangir said....She thought she would be there by their side if any one her children ascend the throne but Allah didn’t allow it..She died 8 years before selim ascending the throne and unfortunately she couldn’t prevent the fact that selim killing his own brother bayezid and his sons though it was his father's order but selim did it by his own hands.

If one of my children sits on the throne I will be there with him. I will never allow it. That is what every mother would want, Hurrem. And I don't blame you for that. What kind of a respectable parent would simply allow his/her children kill eachother; However, you overestimate your longlivity and ability to stop Selim and Bayazid. You couldn't stop them from fighting or even clashing swords in front of you. What makes you think that they'll listen to you when either of them takes the throne;

I love the way chiangir question if one of our brother sit on the throne , he will not do the same as per law .. n you can see with the expression of Hurrem that his son is right 😊 .. n ultimately it happens too selim kills Bayezid for the throne with false allegations.. n the answer Hurrem give that she will be there to protect her kids when one her son ascend the throne .. she forgot no body is immortal n I think by the end of series Hurrem somewhere understood that selim or Bayezid one of them be killed because of the throne for which she fought whole life

I think Cihangir is a good character. He isn't very active as one in the story but he is the middle ground between the two sides. Yes he loves his brother but this doesn't blind him as much. If anything as someone who has dedicated their time to reading and studying he can see things objectively for what they are instead of picking sides.

I fully agree. Cihangir is intelligent and the most objective of the brothers. If Mustafa had lived and got the chance to ascend the throne, probably fratricide would have come to an end much earlier. In the end we will never know what would have happened. But what we definetely know is that Mustafa was executed, then Cihangir died (due to his poor health but also due to the shock of this execution), then Selim and Bayezid fought for the throne. And in the end the worst possible choice got the throne. Selim the drinker. Congratulations.

One of the most disappointing things in the show was the false picture they painted of Cihangir's relationship with and behavior towards Mustafa. Cihangir wasn't this stupid IRL, he wasn't Mustafa's sycophant. He was highly intelligent and his father's constant companion. Cihangir was close with both of his parents and full siblings, he never ever would have turned on them, as the fact is he didn't even know Mustafa that well, as Mustafa left the palace when Cihangir was a toddler and never returned. Everyone was fully aware of the tradition of fratricide and what would happen if Mustafa took the throne.

Some Mustafa's followers may have interpreted Cihangir's death that way, back in the 1500's, but in 2022 we know better and that people don't actually die of grief. First of all, Cihangir was not close to Mustafa in real life. Mustafa left Istanbul when Cihangir was a toddler and never returned. Cihangir didn't know him that well. Cihangir was close to his parents, and siblings, and he was his father's constant companion. Secondly, and most importantly, Cihangir had a severe spinal deformity, he suffered from related ailments his entire life. Riding horseback over a long period of time, to and from a campaign, most likely caused complications with his vital organs, such as his heart and kidneys. and it was those complications that led to his death --- NOT grief.

@@lloydlim1055 I have done a lot of reading of real history over the past years, so can't cite all of it, but some. I read the book "Empress of the East ..." by Leslie Peirce. The one online research paper I can cite for you is about Mustafa's treason (with the Venetians, not the Persians as in the series) by Zahit Atcil (Google: "Why did Suleiman the Magnificent Execute His Son Shezade Mustafa in 1553?") It should come up for you. It is not allowed to post a link. Several pages are there, but it is an interesting read. It contains documented proof.

The thing about Cihangir was that, no matter how wise he was, he could also be so niave. He had absolute faith in Mustafa, but what about the "company" secretly supporting him. The would have let no member of Hurrem's family live. Sure, Mustafa was "good and just" but not all his supporters are.

Hurrem always says mustafa will kill his brothers once he becomes the sultan which is one of the most ironic moment in the history when her own son and husband destroyed two of her sons Suleiman indirectly killed cihangir by killing mustafa and and directly killed bayezid through selim by order

The thumbnail is horribly wrong, in no world hurrem would think this about cihangir But hurrem was so wrong about Mustafa, he saved her husband and son from dying and this is what she has for him She always worried that Mustafa would once commit fraticide and kill all his brothers for throne, but ironically her own son killed her other son just for throne

It's sad to see that family members would kill each other for the sake of power. Was that reallly necessary that once a member sat on the throne, siblings were considered a threat and therefore, needed to be annihilated? I'm not Turkish but still, I love this soap because I love history. However, this historical soap reminds us how dark our civilization had been and unfortunately, has always been though not totally nowadays.

Selim, bayezid had no conflicts from Mustafa instead they had conflicts with themselves shows if mustafa sits on the theone or any 1 out of 3 sits on the throne, fraticide will be executed, exception is cihangir Cihangir was the best option but even he would be forced to kill all his 3 brothers

Ironically, hurrem was so scared that the mustafa ascends the throne,he will kill all his brothers but turns that her own son killed his brother while Mustafa never betrayed any of his brothers or his father despite Suleiman pleading him as guilty Even if cihangir himself sits on the throne, won't you think hurrem would do the same? Forcing cihangir to kill mustafa? Hurrem is just mahidevran but smarter

Cihangir makes good points, but so does Hürrem. If it was literally anyone else, I would've been on Hürrem's side on this one. But Mustafa's promise was just too genuine, and killing his brothers doesn't suit his personality. Hürrem did display some hypocrisy, believing that she could stop Selim or Bayezid from killing their brothers.

@@arcane_agreement3926 You all make Mahidevran seem like the devil. All she was fighting for were the rights of her son, the oldest out of all the children and should be heir. She mellowed out towards the end of the show and I doubt she would tell Mustafa to kill his siblings, nor would Mustafa allow it.

@@hobyoprincess in Ottoman succession system, every Prince has a right to the throne, not just the eldest. But at first, Mahidevran was a devil lol. She tried to kill Hürrem many times and always blamed her faults on her. She also desired the throne for herself. However, I believe she changed as she aged. She still hated and whined about Hürrem, but she never thought of the throne as hers as she know Mustafa would never allow it

Also, if Mahidevran became VALIDE Sultana then she would order killing Hurrem’s sons behind Mustafa’s back. So Hurrem was right on everything she said.

It is always possibility . So why will Hurrum not try be valide sultan and settle for a life in exile. Just because he can't inherite he talks like this . Honestly Hurrum sons supports are Hurrum supports not necessarily any of her son's specific supporter . Where Mustafa supports are always trying so hard for him to king . Bayezid and Chihangir really need to understand that Mahidevran will become valide and will kill them! Any other brother but mustafa will ensure they live if Hurrem is the Valide. Chihangir underestimates hurrem's influence and misinterprets mustafa's will versus his supporter's ambitions.
