One sin that you missed and I'd like to point out: when Belle first sees the horse coming back without her father, she is singing with fall leaf trees in the background. But on the SAME DAY, she is locked inside a room in the castle by the Beast, and it is snowing. The weather changed from fall to winter in just a day.

I'm surprised you didn't mention the main sin: when Belle finds out her dad is sick at home, she decides to go to him and probably just watch him die there, leaving the Beast to his own devices. But we know the minions can reach her house, so why not bring Maurice back to the nice, warm castle where he can be tended round the clock by a full staff of animated objects? This would also eliminate the Gaston issue and a lot of drama, but it would make an amazing amount of sense.

That's one thing that's been consistently bothering me for the last few years - NOBODY in all of France was like "Hey, we haven't heard from the prince or any of his servants in 10 years. Someone should just go check up on that"?? Seems like the king especially would want to have someone go see what was wrong. Even if Prince Beast isn't the dauphin, SOMEBODY should surely be concerned that they haven't heard anything from him in a while. And some messenger from some other nobility should definitely have visited his castle at some point. In the 10 years, SOMEONE should've noticed something was up and done something about it.

Something else to note about the mob scene: in spite of the fact that no one apparently knew the beast existed for at least ten years (which is weird enough as it is), Gaston convinces them in seconds that the beast they have never seen or even heard of is going to come and kill them and their children. That is either world-class charisma Gaston's got there or the most gullible bunch of ignorant townspeople in Disney history.

FYI there's literally a shattered photo of a seemingly teenage prince in the west wing (proving he was older than 11 when he was cursed), plus some of the sentient furniture are kids, meaning that the curse makes everyone in that castle immortal.

If you pause the video at 14:16, and at just the right moment during the movie, you can see a skull in Gastons pupils for about three frames before falling to his death. It's EXTREMELY hard to see it while watching the movie, but I paused the video at just the right time and was like "Holy sh*t!"

Oh, I always thought the fact that it was snowing showed the passage of time. Like, when belle first gets to the castle she was wearing a summer dress and cloak, and earlier that day she was in a feild during what looks like summer. Halfway through the movie winter sets in, and then even toward the end you can see that the snow is gone. I think Belle and the Beast actually spent the most time together than any other Disney couple before declaring love for each other.

People who think that this is Stockholm Syndrome are the kind of people that would only eavesdrop on the part of the conversation that is explaining the evil plan and not the part when the character refuses to carry out said evil plan.

I still love this movie so much, I remember seeing in theaters and they had a really awesome 'contest' where you got like a scratcher (the lotto type) and it was a magic mirror. I forget exactly what the grand prize was (I was 7 and this was 23-24 years ago), but I recall it being worth quite a bit of money. This movie, Mulan and Hercules all had funny lines that my friends and I would randomly use in non-contextual situations lol. Like "For who could ever love...a BEAST!" or "Let's get down to fighting...THE HUN!". Man I miss the 90's and being a kid back then.

I just had an epiphany...Miss Potts is Chip’s grandmother. Think about it; at the end of the film, we see that she’s clearly too old to have children. Chip is way too young to be her child. The only question now is where are Chip’s actual parents. Or what if he’s actually an orphan? That would explain all of the other child teacups we see in the cupboard. We’re all of the children turned into teacups? We don’t see any other children as furniture.

To be fair, Maurice going to the tavern for help and then being crushed after being rejected is not that crazy. Reason is, rather simply, the tavern, or inn, or pub, or local bar, is where a lot of folks will go to after work, in order to unwind, and while I'd have to double check, that bar has 50+ guys, including Gaston, who is practically the town hero - if Maurice had gotten Gaston, and the others, to help him, every other physically-able-bodied man in the village would have been all but obligated to help save Belle, unless they wished to be scorned by everyone else.

So if all the cursed furniture turns back to humans when the curse is lifted- what are they gonna do? Light the lamp which isn’t there then walk over to put something into the wardrobe that isn’t there then finally sit down at the (not there) table. Where’s the original furniture????

What about the fact that beast has a portrait of his 21 year-old human self hanging in his room when he only got cursed when he was ten? There's no way any painter could have guessed what the young prince would've looked like in ten years' time.

I think the "10 years we've been rusting" and "21st year" refer to the years of the curse. I feel like maybe the point of the curse is that they're all frozen in time at the ages they were when the enchantress cursed them (Chip was a kid, the beast was a young adult etc). That would explain the fact they've been stuck for 10 years but Mrs Potts wouldn't have had to conceive and give birth as an actual teapot, and that the stained-glass window of the prince turning the enchantress away doesn't show him as a pre-pubescent kid! On an unrelated note, maybe a sin for how they already had names that sounded like the items they were turned into... Cogsworth as a clock and Lumiere as a candlestick haha!

Hey if anyone hasn't realized they forgot about the beast's wounds. The arrow was shot behind his shoulder and it should still be there, and then the knife wound, we did see it bleed out of the beast as Belle pulls him in. I mean the wound should still be there somewhat. Any ideas why they still weren't there?

For 3:06, "l'argent" is also French for "the silver" as in "the silverware" (money and silver are homonyms in French), so it's most likely a store selling silverware and stuff. Though it's true it feels a bit like a google translated name, as "argenterie" is not a commonly used word for "silverware" as opposed to "vaisselle" for example. And so, the connection between silver and silverware is a bit more convoluted than in English and not obvious enough for a shop name that is supposed to announce what you're selling.

So, all things considering, 21 is actually a pretty good age with there being only 8 characters (From the big, successful movies) in whole over 20 and 18 under (Again from the successful movies.)
