I know what you're thinking. Why the hell did they make a sequel to Don't Breathe? And why the hell did they make the SUPER EVIL BASTARD from the first movie the protagonist of Don't Breathe 2?!
Well I have no damn clue. This thing is a huge mess. Here are its sins.
Thursday: comic book sins

Your sin for the girl being suspicious of the footsteps is unwarranted. That was actually a clever bit of writing because the footsteps were preceded by the hall light being turned on which was an indication that it was a stranger because the blind man wouldn't need the light... Sin the Sin Dealer!

Also, if 99,99% of footsteps you've heard in your life are from the same person, you will know in an instant whether it is that person or not. When I was a child, laying in bed, I could perfectly hear which one of my 6 family members came walking up the stairs outside my room. It is super obvious.

Imagine how much better this series would have been if they had just gotten rid of the "he's gonna impregnate this random girl!" part of the first film. Like, imagine if they had just stuck with him being the badass dude defending his property and the audience having to figure out who to root for as they see everything from the thieves' perspective. If they had stuck with that the redemption angle in this one would've been significantly more palatable.

As ridiculous as the plot was, it was nice to see Stephen Lang play this character again. Horrible character as a person, but fascinating character to watch. And let’s be honest there aren’t a lot of action rolls for a 70-year-old men to throw at him, despite the fact that he’s awesome in action.

Fairly sure phoenix saying her name was phoenix at the end was to show the viewers that she still sees the blind guy as her dad and not the meth parents, which given the events of the movie, was entirely pointless, because there was no reason that in the five minutes she spent with her real parents being talked into giving up her life, for what is essentially a total stranger to her, would make her decide to adopt the identity they revealed to her

This movie really hinges on the fact you forgot the turkey baster scene on the last movie (we didn't) or that maybe it wasn't as bad as you remembered (it is). The great big shocking moment of this one is when you learn they don't care about the girl and want her for her heart, like, I guess that's as bad since they're meth people who harvest organs, but, like, is it?
@UnboxingAlyss

Don't Breathe 2 has no logic. In the first part, blind hero attacks the enemies in his own house. He knows his house so well and he fights with the enemies in the darkness. I have a Rottweiler, actually several. The reason for the cuts in the chase, was to give the dog a rest. Rottweilers are notoriously lazy, I can barely get mine to run more than 10 metres before wanting a breather. In fact I've been overtaken by geriatrics on our daily walk because they just cannot be bothered. There's a reason they are known as good pound dogs, cause they can just lay in the same place for 23hours of the day. The other time 45 minutes is spent eating and drinking, the other 15 minutes getting rid of said food and water.

In truth, I love this sequel, Stephen Langs portrayal of this character is amazing - we get to explore the complexities of the human psyche, regrets, justification. Ofc, the things he did with those women in the first movie was effed tf up, but other than that? He was just a blind old guy filled with grief who had to defend himself from a bunch of thieves, if they hadn't made him a rapey mf there'd be no incentive not to root for him. I feel his character is really morally grey and thought it was kinda cool and exciting to see Norman as the protagonist. Maybe he'll be a villain again in DB3, who knows? If anyone can sell it, it's Stephen Lang

Facts. I actually like what they did with his character in this movie. He didn’t try to justify his actions and even called himself a monster… Honestly, I was just glad that he didn’t attempt to do it again, since I thought at first that Phoenix may have been the child of a woman he kidnapped after the events of the first film.

God this was one of the worst movies of the year for me EASILY. I remember that part where the dead mom's wheelchair starts rolling on its own, dragging her and Phoenix towards the pool, came on in the theatre and I burst out laughing at how stupid it was, and everyone else in the theatre looked at me like I was insane.

When you realize that this movie stole it's ending from the last of us lol. The old man is basically Joel coming to save Ellie from the "doctors" that want to kill her and killing everyone associated with the area, whether they were directly involved in the planned killing of said little girl or not. You know, if Joel was a creepy, child stealing, woman abducting, murdering rapist. They even gave him plot armor because he survives ALL of that.

How do movies like this get made while I'm, doxxed, stolen from, parodied, parasocially manipulated and humiliated online for rough draft outlines I've written? But more importantly, why did they choose to animate the little girl collapsing at the start of the movie? Was it really more cost effective to do this with CGI? What the hell.

I think the reason that they can’t just get a new cook is because they are too small. They can’t find anyone because of few connections. The current cook doesn’t want to die, and so refuses to teach someone else. Can’t kill her because it’s the boss’ wife. (Girlfriend?) But also the only cook they have. So they just have to do what the cook wants. Or else lose everything.
