That movie Deliver Us from Evil was based on a beat cop and an exorcist’s accounts, and actually made the movie less outlandish than what happened 👀 The point of entry from our perspective was technically Western military exploring the wrong underground cave…

While hitting the bunker with more mortar shells is the safer option. They want to capture it. If it's destroyed by the overhead strikes then that defeats the purpose of their objective. That said, just having 4 guys wander around until they think it's okay or die is terrible. Assuming the Germans retreated, they could have still set up traps. You need people who know what they are doing going in there methodically.

Just a little thing, but asking the German "Do you speak English?" was dumb as he wouldn't KNOW to answer "no" if he doesn't. So his silence could signal either that he doesn't understand, that something is wrong with him where he CAN'T reply, or whether he WON'T reply. Considering the war had been going on for literal years at that point, I'm sure the English soldiers in the battle would know enough German to ask him "Sprechen Sie Englisch?" so at least they'd know whether the German was unable to understand them or for some reason NOT answering,

@@armind4555I am from Germany and hole Europe use similar head gestures at least since middle age. To translate or understand Yes and No into the other language is also really easy. No = Nein Yes = Ja

It sounds pretty good from a civilian outlook, military though, it's much different, first of you'd send one soldier inside to check it out and send another once the first is out of hearing range and keep a chain going like that and if the first soldier stops making noise you get everyone out and attach bayonets and sit and wait for some sign of life from the first soldier and if it doesn't come you board the bunker back up and mark it on whatever map you'd have access to

These are British soldiers, making it the Eastern front. It was the western front only from the German perspective ("All quiet on the Western Front.")

@trumpsmugshotlol This I do understand for them they're facing East, but the point is the troops are not on the Eastern front . In neither world War was this area of Europe referred to as the Eastern front by the troops they were in the west of Europe therefore the western front.

On top of all that, he gave us a way to defeat the creature and also survive, showing that the sacrifice wasn’t necessary, so what are you on about?

Sorry but I haven’t seen anyone else say it, but this is not the Eastern Front, the Eastern Front was between the Russian Empire and its Allie’s, and the Germans, Austria-Hungary etc, the Western Front is the one known for miles of trenches and the slog of no man’s land. The Eastern front was a lot more ‘active’ to say the least, but there was trenchworks as well.
