I've watched this twice. I was cycling the virtual Ring Road challenge with The Conqueror and was looking for something to give me a more in depth feel of the Ring Road while I was doing it. So I've watched a ton of videos on this subject in the hours and hours it's taken me, and I have to say this is the absolute best of them all. You'd be surprised at the number of people who film the waterfalls, yet don't capture the sounds of them, or miss out the amazing nature shots, and the skies, and you've managed to capture them all and more. You deserve a lot more views. This documentary, because that is what it is, and that's a good thing, is incredible.

This is one of the BEST video I had the pleasure to watch. My first visit to Iceland will be in few weeks. Weather permitting I will be taking the Ring Road for a 10 day drive around the island. First, I plan to stay in Reykjavík for few days just to relax before taking the 10 day trip. In my preparation for the upcoming trip I've watched many videos and nothing came close to this. Great job guys! Your video was very helpful to me. I am very thankful for your time and talent making this video. Any helpful suggestion where to be extra careful while driving the Rind Road would be greatly apricated.

I don't think of an area to advise extra care when driving, except your trip is later in the season than ours and you will likely have snow and ice to consider at times.

@@RonBurkett Hi Ron, Can I ask you with all the equipment with which you visited Iceland (camera, drone, phone etc ...) if the rental vehicle was enough to recharge them or else you had other batteries rescue. We are leaving next October with the same model of van for hire. Thanks Ron. A pleasure to see and review your journey and what awaits us. Best regards.
@RonBurkett
@RonBurkett 3 жыл бұрын
@@Mougex An excellent question! You are correct, I had many batteries to keep charged - 3 drone, 1 drone controller, 1 tablet, 2 DSLR, 2 video camera, 2 GoPro and a phone. Robin had two DSLR batteries and a phone as well. The short answer is yes, with the inverter and USB power outlets in the van we managed to keep everything charged with no issue. Now, we did take advantage of travel time and have batteries on charge while we were driving between places, and of course, we couldn't charge everything at once, so we would also charge things during the night while sleeping. The van has two batteries (a seperate one for the power system) so you don't have to worry about running down the battery and getting stranded. Each of us also brought a power bank and used those as well. At around 51:50 in the video you can see a glimpse of available power in the van. I know you will enjoy your trip!
@Mougex

@@RonBurkett Hello Ron, first of all thank you very much for your answer. As we are leaving at the beginning of October, I know the temperatures are less favorables during this period, the batteries suffer all the more. Know that I take a real pleasure to see you handling the drone, we acquired our first by seeing your images. Music that goes so well with the quality of your images. I must admit that I am very sensitive and there were times that moved me 😭, I have no British gene. I savor your images as much as the facial expressions and attitude of your assistant Robin. Thank you so much Ron, I love travel even more when passionnate people share it so well. Pleasure to watch more and more your vidéo. For us the magic moment is coming in 2 months

Wonderful video with some stunning stills and drone footage - thanks for taking the effort! I've booked an 11 night holiday in Iceland for next June. We opted for a small motorhome rather than a campervan as I could do with the convenience of an on-board loo due to age and having to take diuretics :). I'm a keen photographer and bought a drone (DJI Mini 2) recently so I'll be taking that along with my SLRs. Can't wait!

Hello Fatima! Thank you for watching and commenting! You have asked a good question - my friend and I enjoy doing long exposure night photography and light painting our subjects. That is what we intended to do with the plane. Of course you see the weather changed things. There is one point in the video where I show a picture on back of my camera - that is one idea we were trying. All in all, we got some pretty neat photos from the plane - but they aren't shown in the video. Coincedentially - I recently had a great trip you your country! I enjoyed visiting many historical sites and will be posting video eventually.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that huge waterfall the place where they filmed one of the Alien films. In the film an engineer drinks a vial of black liquid and throws himself into the fall where his genetics are torn down then rebuilt when mixed with the water. It was a Horror Sci-Fi movie and that looks like the exact place they filmed that scene.

I really think that you should make a counterclockwise ring tour, because the glacier hiking, the national park hiking and the tour around golden circle need tons of energy and mood and I really don't think you should save that for the last few days. People get tired after the first 4-5 days.
