Disappearing hurts less then asking for help it's so damn true, when I'm hurting I usually just disappear, because I can't bring myself to ask for help, it feels like I would just be a burden on my friends

The way Citizen Soldier can put my feelings, thoughts and experiences into words and create such wonderful and vivid pictures with music is something I'm so thankful for. I genuinely love every song I've heard from them. This song is something I didn't even know I needed.

Good god, where was the song when I was dating my ex. Even to this day Threw it in his face that he made his 'Doll'. Walk this way, talk this way. Don't open your mouth, don't tell the truth, don't have an opinion because anything you say will be twisted and used against you. Scarecrow/Doll is NOT healthy at all, I had to learn this the hard way. You feel so dead inside because you have to fake it on the outside, the only one you can trust is the verison of you thats screaming inside for help but no one can hear you as your lips are sealed shut.

I suffer from an identity disorder. The original me truly feels like it is dead. Like the primary killed it and replaced it. at times, I hardly feel human, even when I'm trying to be the old me, it's an act. My depression and self hate hurt so bad that I often give into the feelings of insanity because it is easier. All of the songs that I have heard from you guys speak to me. But this one almost feels like it was written for me. Thank you for the change you are making for letting people like me feel less alone and for making it less looked down upon to feel the way we feel.

This song brought me to my knees….for two years, I was under the thumb of a man who ruined me. He ridiculed me, my identity and my family. He drove me to self harm and thinking I’d be better off dead. I was able to escape physically but he still rules my thoughts from time to time

This is probably the best song I've ever heard about masking. A lot of people in abusive environments go through this but there's not a lot of media which talks about it as it's an uncomfortable topic. One again thank you Citizen Soldier

I raised my 3 siblings. I did so with mental illness, physical illness, abuse from the one who should've been raising them, etc. This is beautiful beyond belief. Like I've commented on a previous short/video, people like you/me, this type of advocacy for abuse and trauma, it's what makes it worth it to be alive. Thank you so much for your beautiful lyrics/music. On a daily basis, someone needs to hear.

"rejection has me terrified" The hallmark of my life. This song is pretty much the theme song of my life. The anthem if you will. I love this song even though it makes me feel wrong. Because it's like listening to a mirror.

If y'all only knew how much of an impact your songs have on me, and how deeply that I relate to them. I have CPTSD, GAD, Social Anxiety, Chronic Depression, ADHD, and Executive Dysfunction. I have survived 20+ attempts since the age of 12, and I am 29 right now. Whenever someone asks me what my current favorite band is, I always say Citizen Soldier (you guys), and it's been that way for about 3 years and counting. Genuinely a huge fan. You guys have genuinely saved my life numerous times and also have given words to the deepest pains and feelings that I didn't know how to express or share outloud. You've put into words the darkest thoughts and secrets that nobody knows unless they've felt it themselves. You guys remember, you are beautiful souls too, and there's nothing wrong with being imperfect. You save lives with the music you make and speak for those who no longer can.

This was me for many years. My father would sa me for 12 years and i disassociated for most of my teenage years. Cant remember anything other than the abuse. Thank you for a song that puts that feeling into words. 💖

The emphasis on the line "You can't kill me if I'm already dead" is a very powerful and relatable message to me. It basically sums up the way my mind works: I always feel like I'm in a constant race to treat myself more poorly than anyone else on this earth can, that way it doesn't hurt so much when people actually do. I'll break my heart before someone else can; any insult someone says means nothing because I've already said far worse to my reflection; and there is no monster in this world that can scare me now because nothing can outmatch the ones in my head, especially after I feed them. It's detrimental of course, because I've gotten so used to the negativity in my head that joy and freedom are feelings I almost am afraid to feel. I just wish being vulnerable would amount to something, but it doesn't for. All I get when I'm vulnerable is the notion that no one cares. I might as well disappear, because everyone's to busy the hopeless these days. Nevertheless, I'm just glad I'm not the only one according to this song.

“Disappearing hurts less than asking for help” this month, January, is the hardest month for me it seems and I can’t deny this is how it feels. To know I’ve come this far and ended up a failure you know.

This song is amazing! I love the addition of the melody from Monster Made of Memories. I've been listening to this song on repeat for the last hour on spotify. Keep up the great work!!! Scarecrow has been my favorite album so far!

Everyday i went to school was a living hell, and at home was even worse, i get beaten up, choked, and even got made fun of for the things i couldn't change by my class mates, but i went to school to get away from my family... Because they were worse

THe leitmotif of House of Memories was a GREAT touch.

One year after the day I’ve first listened you guys, when Spotify just randomly showed me this song, and it still hits me the same way. And yeah, nowadays you’re on my Top 5 artists I’ve listen more last year according to my Spotify Rewind. This entire album, especially, inspired me to created one of my favorite RPG characters ever: an Scarecrow called Crowley. Thank you guys so much for it ♡♡

I’m not depressed but listening to these songs and reading these comments just makes my heart break apart. I feel so sorry for everyone feeling this but I have no idea how to help so I’ll just say… To all those who need to hear this. You are loved. You are wanted. “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger”. “No pain, no gain.” You are all living proof of these quotes. Your abuse hurts and will probably continue hurting but this will make you a stronger person. Your bravery and strength to hold on will be rewarded in the future. Don’t give up now because there is so much out there worth living. If you die, you’ll never experience the joy and happiness of life. You’re your own jury, your own judge. Don’t look at others. Only look at yourselves because you matter. You always have, ever since you were born, and you always will. “Every child deserves a parent but not every parent deserves a child.” You aren’t the monster. Whoever is torturing you is. Love yourself and others will love you. Respect yourself and other will respect you. “Your abuse is your glory” as Citizen Soldier has said in one of his songs. Your abuse is your glory and the story you will write in your future. No one is like you. God makes everyone different and if you die. Your uniqueness dies with you. No one wants that. If your loved ones can’t see that then they are not truly your loved ones. There is no one else like you. Don’t think you are inferior. Everyone is the same. What matters is what’s in your heart, nothing else. Remember that and live your life to the fullest so one day, you can look back and say “I really did it all.” Live life with no regrets and leave this world happily knowing you experienced everything you’ve ever wanted. Karma will punish those who’ve hurt you and Karma will reward you for your glorious bravery. You’re the next generation and the warriors of this world. You’re special. One day this world will see that. Everyone who’s ever doubted you will see that. You don’t need anyone’s approval other than your own. Never forget that and live a life full of love, happiness and fulfilment. We’re all with you :) Sorry if I started rambling but seeing all these comments about how people have suffered just made me want to say this to everyone who needs it. I can't even fully explain what your music means to me. I found you guys like 2 months ago, and it's almost all I listen to. The past half a year me and my psychologist have been working a lot with feelings and I had to write on paper cuz I couldn't speak the words. Your music helps me so much with putting words on feelings never had anything to relate to this much. I've been clean from hurting myself for 4 years now, it's not easy and I still struggle. I tried to get two police officers just the other day to understand forcing me to hospital didn't help like they think it would. To me I was more afraid of going to hospital than what the voice in my head would make me do to myself. They didn't get it and I was forced to go there for nothing but more hurt. I'm now terrified of asking for help. I find the understanding and compassion from other less system run ways like CS music. Hiding how unwell I am is safer. Even as I try to fight on my KZfaq account about these very things. In person I'll hide. There is no real help in a system that made me ill in the first place. Thank you! Growing up in an abusive home will do this. People are often amazed by my ability to let criticism and hate do right off me like it doesn't bother me. But it's because I grew up in an abusive home. I'm so desensitized to abuse that at this point, no one's comments will ever hurt me the way I've already been hurt. For the longest time I just felt dead inside, but I think I've finally gotten to a place where I've turned all that pain into armor instead of emptiness. Monster made of Memories and Scarecrow combined have basically become my anthem. Past experiences growing up led to me spending nights awake wondering why I wasn't good enough. Eventually leading me to shut myself off from the world because of the monster made of memories. Leaving behind the scarecrow.

You can't feel the pain when you feel nothing at all. But sometimes, there's no pain worse than exactly that. You'll go through hell if you fight, but you're not alone, because I'm right there with you, and we'll pull through together. It might seem like an impossible mountain to climb, but once you've reached the summit, you'll be all the more stronger, unstoppable.

After the year of 2013..when I get very close to that point. Well, let's just say I never felt the same. Like I am living aimlessly and that the old me is gone. And some of my memories it's like they got erased. This song pretty much sums up that feeling.And to have family that try to say I am lying about being like this.
