As a teenager with PTSD, this hits me hard. I’ve been listening to you for years and it’s always helped me through my hardest times. I’ve had so many people tell me I’m wrong for having PTSD because I’m “too young”, or never been in war. But this illness is caused by more than war and any age can have it. Thank you Citizen Soldier for being with me, this song will always be one of my favorites.

This describes exactly what I feel. My dad was very physically abusive and my mom was very emotionally manipulative. All I remember is the memories and it causes me panic attacks. All night and everyday all I do is replay the memories. It’s like I’m alive but trapped in the memories. Amazing job capturing what people feel when memories haunt them.

I related to "Ashamed like I'm sleeping with the enemy" It's how I feel a lot of the time. I feel like my memories are keeping me awake, and ashamed of what I remember in the past, it's like a monster on my shoulders that was made of things I wished to forget. You guys are truly amazing, and I hope you keep doing what you are doing. And don't forget to look after yourself too! Since you do so much for us! So many songs in one week is crazy! I loved them all!

This is exactly what i needed at this point in my life. I'm currently in therapy for PTSD and in my last session, we talked about this very topic. Thank you citizen soldier, you deserve so much more credit than you are getting.

My mental health has been in the toilet as of late and these songs seriously help me cope. Hell, I used I'm Not Okay to convey to my husband just what exactly is going on in my head. I appreciate you guys so freaking much. You have no idea.

To all those who need to hear this. You are loved. You are wanted. “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger”. “No pain, no gain.” You are all living proof of these quotes. Your abuse hurts and will probably continue hurting but this will make you a stronger person. Your bravery and strength to hold on will be rewarded in the future. Don’t give up now because there is so much out there worth living. If you die, you’ll never experience the joy and happiness of life. You’re your own jury, your own judge. Don’t look at others. Only look at yourselves because you matter. You always have, ever since you were born, and you always will. “Every child deserves a parent but not every parent deserves a child.” You aren’t the monster. Whoever is torturing you is. Love yourself and others will love you. Respect yourself and other will respect you. “Your abuse is your glory” as Citizen Soldier has said in one of his songs. Your abuse is your glory and the story you will write in your future. No one is like you. God makes everyone different and if you die. Your uniqueness dies with you. No one wants that. If your loved ones can’t see that then they are not truly your loved ones. There is no one else like you. Don’t think you are inferior. Everyone is the same. What matters is what’s in your heart, nothing else. Remember that and live your life to the fullest so one day, you can look back and say “I really did it all.” Live life with no regrets and leave this world happily knowing you experienced everything you’ve ever wanted. Karma will punish those who’ve hurt you and Karma will reward you for your glorious bravery. You’re the next generation and the warriors of this world. You’re special. One day this world will see that. Everyone who’s ever doubted you will see that. You don’t need anyone’s approval other than your own. Never forget that and live a life full of love, happiness and fulfilment. We’re all with you :) Sorry if I started rambling but seeing all these comments about how people have suffered just made me want to say this to everyone who needs it. I hope you don’t mind if you’ve read all the way to here and sorry if I wasted your time but I’ll always be here for anyone who needs to vent.

Im 37 and most of your songs represent me.... a byproduct of inhumane cruel blood family. I paid for my fathers sins before i was born until i turned 17. I left my family and signed up to die in the army. I was convinced noone will ever care about me. That was until my kids were born, they are the only reason i still live. Great music thank you

This will be blasting on my phone for a long while. As someone who do have traumas, this is on point. Many nights I stay awake or have nightmares about these. Sometimes waking up with tears in my eyes. It's not always easy to live with this. Being paranoid that it can happen again... But I keep my head up and try to keep going forward. Kicking my ass to move on 💙

This song hits hard in all of the right ways. There's a lot of misconception when it comes to mental health, such as the outside perspective of "they looked fine to me" Probably the toughest misconception though is that getting help makes it all go away. It doesn't make everything just magically disappear... just makes it easier to live with it.

I had never even heard music that was specifically about trauma.. This is amazing.. For those who have a traumatic experience (like me) this is a very in-depth music because of the lyrics... The memories are controlling my mind... everyday is a huge battle.. I'm sick of the bad, terrifying experiemces, memories.. I wish I could forget them...

Amazing, powerful song!! The simple line, "Of what used to be" made my cry. I wish it was all in the past, but more of these "memories" that are killing me are being made every day.

This came out while I was going through a bad period, my mind stuck on the years I spent being bullied. Life's better, but this song sums up the PTSD really well, which is actually nice when you consider how lonely it can feel. It's ond thing to know in your head that others feel like you do, but having an anthem for the feeling really drives that knowledge into your bones.

This will always and forever be my number one favorite song by y'all. I love all of y'all's music but this one helps keeps some thoughts in check and keep me on a balanced level. My dauther has ptsd and she said she likes to listen to your songs, because they calm her and she can drown out the world. She was diagnosed at the age of 8 that was nearly 12 years ago she struggled with it. When she found a song in her mix playlist she listened to it and i think its called first blood. A few months or weeks ago she asked me if i still wanna know how she feels. I said yes of course. She showed me your song im not okay and would anyone care. She comunicates with your songs because of her psychopathic tendencies she said she feels like her brain became scrambled eggs. She didnt understand what she felt. She playes usualy face to face or first blood. Sometimes even Madhouse. She spmetimes seems emotionless to others but of you know her you know its just a mask to hide behind so no one knows how angry or sad she really is. She said it feels like a weakness to show emotions. I still love my little Psycho. She is my dauther and i dont care what other people think of her having ptsd,D.I.D, ADHD or etc.
