well if he does'like' her it seems to me that he's confused it with obsession, breaking into her house to keep a check on her and buying her other debts, he wants to keep it clear to her that she's under his mercy ...whatever it is i hope he stays as far away from her as possible since he's a psycho that could go berserk any moment

Ok guys, i got a new theory. I think that Gwang Il originally fell in love with Ji An, but turns out that she has killed his father. Ji An accidently killed his father to protect her grandma but endup regretting what she has done. And thats why she always let Gwang Il beat her.
