Clement is absolutely the right man for this job, even if we have a poor start to this season. He has identified everything that is wrong with the club e.g. injuries, contracts, and player trading model. He can't sort that mess out in 8 months.

Beale was backed last summer cos of the good work Gio had done by qualifying for the CL group stages

The ridiculous contracts and wages have been killing us for years and Clements is doing exactly the same thing with the last 2 unknown signings getting 4 and 5 year deals. We shouldnt be handing out any more than 2 year deals with extensions possible if they do well and if said players dont want to sign a 2 year deal move on to others. None of this is rocket science , I wouldnt let any of our boardroom run a market stall.

Agree with everything CJ said, except the myth that he (unlike the others) was backed by the board. He wasn’t either. Spent £15m but had to pay for it through sales of 13-14mil. Considering that too was a rebuild a net spend of about £1m is not backing a manager! I’m not defending Beale. Merely pointing out the lack of board backing for any manager

I have had this argument with any - Gerrard at the time he left, had no reason to be sour over investment in the squad. 1)The fact is, he needed to sell players (which he didnt want to do) or qualify for Champions League vs Malmo (which we didn't). 2)The squad that he was unhappy with investment was 7 points clear when he left (which shows it was a strong squad that you can't say was "missing" 3)The squad he left went on to go to a Europa Final. The fact is, for that season, considering he wanted to keep the core together, WAS GOOD ENOUGH

I'm happy with the transfer strategy as i can now seen a profile for the player trading model that was spoke about. However we have failed the last few years to offload players that are a surplus to requirement. I also think that tav and goldson go this window and think its deserved, both have been fantastic for the club but i think the departure is overdue and the lack of ability by the club to let players go at the correct time has impacted the improvement of the playing squad and put us in this position.

Our board seem to think it is ok to stand still. They are not rangers supporters they are just business men. They have no passion.

Regarding the stadium. There are problems with transporting steel via the black sea and delays to things internationally because of the Ukraine war. We don't live in a bubble. I am sure the club is doing all it can. Are we really going to chastise the club or any club for trying to improve seating for the disabled? The war is no ones fault, but it could have been planned better, but it is what it is. It is time the drama stopped about it. The Dundee situation doesn't compare either. They could easily get pitch covers. They were fined by the SFA for not following procedure correctly. We have followed procedure at the earliest possible point where an issue outwith our controls came up. Issues happen, we were professional, Dundee were not. That is why they were fined and we weren't. But don't let facts stop any haters out there. Side note as well Dundee were very comfortable during a title race by us to seek Celtics help for pitch coverings. There are and were, suppliers in the UK who they could buy them from easily. They went to Celtic. That is a comfortable relationship there during postponement of games during our run-in. Odd.

Not as bad as feared in terms of Ibrox being unplayable for league games, we only have 4 home league games scheduled until the end of October and potentially none in the League Cup depending on the draws, its the impact on CL qualification and then CL/EL group stages

Well said... Phil should be signed to at least a 5 year deal, with bonuses for delivering on things like player development/transfer. It's taken us quite a while to dig this hole, I truly believe he's capable to getting us out of it asap (as the saying goes... Ibrox wasn't rebuilt in a day). So far he's doing what he said he would do... bringing in young prospects, who can play multiple positions, with good potential resale value. Let's give the man a decent amount of time to get us beyond the mess he inherited.

We have a lot we need to clear out..the issue is, who wants any of it? The likes of Lawrence, Dowell, Lammers.. who is paying for them? We aren't going to recoup £4.5m on dessers. If we sell Goldson and Tav, that will help. But then we have the issue of replacing them 2, before we look elsewhere. The board on one hand can't just keep throwing money like they did to Beale, but on the other hand, spending money makes money, we need CL qualification!

People aren’t buying players because of their massive contracts that Ross Wilson and Beale handed out. We are stuck in this problem for awhile until these contracts run down and we get rid of them, so we have to stick with Clement this season no matter how tough it gets :(

Unfortunately it happens in construction projects. Harden up and deal with it. No longer wasting energy arguing and fighting with SFA and SPFL cooperation is the key. Great example set by Queens Park to help us. Hampden not ideal but it is what it is. This is where I have the view that we're too much of a shitshow to even think about compete with the celtic right now because although they only have to be mediocre to be better. I know this will be controversial for some, but I don't think that the board can be blamed for letting down Clement. If anyone can, though, it's Michael Beale and the transfer policy dropped last summer. The board funded a rebuild last year ... they can't be expected to fund another one this year. Is it any surprise that players that are being blasted by fans for not being good enough are not "saleable"? Why would anyone pay £5m for Dessers ... a player that needs 10 or more chances to score 1 goal? A player that frustrates the fanbase with his misses? Equally, why would anyone pay big money for players who have an injury history? Rangers did it ... the "player rehabilitation" strategy that Beale adopted ... but it failed. None of our players are attracting genuine interest, meaning that we are already well behind the 8-ball with the NEW transfer strategy. What I would like answers to is "why have we failed to sign Cordoba, Garcia?" ... these are the players that we need to make sure we get signed, yet both have fallen through (not to mention the lad from Munich, Rrahmani etc). We're a small club ... not in terms of fanbase, but in terms of the money we can offer players because of the lack of income (or the large number of older, injured, players getting paid a LOT of wages). We lost our identify, and our structure, when the HMRC debacle hit ... we cannot expect any board to pump in almost a decade of Champions League money like Celtic have had free of charge. TBH, the fanbase needs to lower their expectations for a few years to give the manager time to rebuild properly. I believe we have the manager, DoF, to achieve long term success ... but we might have to make do for a few seasons.

The manager will need another 2 full seasons to get a team capable of winning the league. Given the financial restrictions he is under he can't produce miracles and the fans need to back him not calls to sack him . The ones needing sacked are the board and get investors in who actually want to take the club forward . We need fresh money and people who actually know what they are doing a successful team will bring in money long term but there needs to be investment before that can happen so unless we get funny money for people then its going to take time and patience

I don't know if Clement is fully let down by the board. If he was lied to over his budget for this summer, then clearly thats unfair. However the reality is he came in and the cost of Cortes and Diomande accounts for around £8.5 million, Barron will likely be a fee as well, he has a £6 million player in Danilo returning. He also spent £1.75 million on Igamane and has Hagi to weigh up as an option as well. I would play him over Cantwell as out 10. Thats over £10 million spent by Clement between January and now. Then if he sells anyone thats more to spend. He has the tools and if he has the know how he can get more out of some players as well. Also maybe can do some shrewd deals as well here or there. I also don't know about his judgement in keeping with Silva, Goldson and Tavernier even when out of form. The other reality is he didn't lay a glove on Celtic and hasn't proven anything yet. He needs to get it right and get us winning games against them. If not he won't be here long. Personally my view is I had never heard of him, just like Pedro and Le Guen. I would rather have had Mcinness and Thommo learning from him to take over one day and more Scottish boys in and around the team. I think Mcinness would have used the money available more wislely. Still its up to Clement to win us over and get the team winning so, I will back him and see how he goes against Celtic. Lets see if there is any progress to how we play after preseason and see if certain guy's like Danilo can step up and make a difference. All we can do is hope but I am feeling grumpy AF about the board and stadium and the constant FN drama in the press. Putting all that aside though, I have given it real thought and will put aside all that, and give Phil a chance this season to win my grumpy arse over. Times are tough. Lets stick together and see how it goes.
