Good video. Great tips! Thanks. Bummer about the redo. You could have come back and just recorded audio to put over the video. But I’m happy to have a 12 minute video that covers the same tips.

It's so difficult to find straight answers on the internet now, this guy says he uses IPA but yet other videos say it's an absolute no as it swells clear coat, dilute to 12% etc. So now I'm scared to use anything on my new motorbike!! I also do wonder if these wrap companies have done the research 😬

Thanks for the video! I have always used 2 different buckets for wheels and car like you do. I also use another 2 buckets of clean water to rinse the brushes, wash mitts, etc before dunking them back in the wash buckets. Keeps all the crap you clean off the car from getting in your clean wash waters.

Hey, can you do a video on measuring how much material you need for a wrap???
@RandomJ20234 жыл бұрын

Good way to figure this stuff out is on a website “WePrintWraps.com” they print customers wraps as well as have a PDF file with the amount of wrap you’ll need.

Hi. Thanks for another very informative video. My question is if I have a car with a badly chipped front bumper, can I water paper sand the bumper before wrapping to get a perfect finish? Obviously it will need respraying if I remove the wrap, but would it help to flat it down a bit to achieve a good finish? Thanks again. Rudi (South Africa)

Morning, Had an odd question semi off topic. I'm wrapping a vinyl graphic around a Fender Strat guitar. I know that your focus is cars not guitars. But, perhaps you have an idea on how to best approach wrapping the tight radius on the guitar horns without creating the "bottle capping" effect? I'm just throwing this strange one out there? I have knifeless tape, heat gun, etc... Thanks

If the clear coat is still intact, you can buff and polish the clear coat to get the shine back. However if the clear coat is gone you have no choice but to repaint or wrap the car

So I was trying to fix some chips before my install as I can feel them with my finger, so ill see them after the wrap. Just had the car hand washed to remove last washes wax. Got it home and hit it with Isoprop on a microfiber to prep for the chip fix and it looked like a film of cold bacon grease everywhere I wiped. Just a white greasy mess I was pushing around. Took forever to get it off with damp iso microfib. Is this just waxy residue left over and im assuming a bottle of water and dawn dishwashing det will remove it ya?

What is a good alternative to isopropyl alcohol for films that recommend not usimg it to prep the surface? For example with the Avery ColorFlow film they state on their site do not use isopropyl alcohol before applying the film.

I’m unable to find 70% Isopropyl Alcohol anywhere near me due to the pandemic. But I did find a TON of bottles of 50% at the 99c Store of all places. Would 50% be adequate enough to use before laying down vinyl? Thanks for any help.

If you’re going to vinyl wrap over it… just wet sand it smooth, vinyl is like… painting a wall that has repaired holes in it. Itll be smooth where the holes were repaired, and have normal texture in the paint, if you just wet sand your failed clear coat, (until it feels smooth to the touch) you will not be able to see the imperfection over the wrap. But. Any imperfection will show under the wrap. Including… cracks, texture, a drastic level change (anything you can feel a ‘lip’ sometimes even only 1/32”) and of course.. dirt or debris. Literally a grain of sand will be noticeable. Sorry I noticed this comment and it was already years later :(

If you use 100% isopropanol, not that 70/30 bullshit, you wont have to worry about evaporation. Whats being leftover is the water, use 100% IPA.
