In terms of the legalities, each member does not need permission from YG nor have involvement with YG to play their songs live because being that they are the vocals behind each song, they have rights to each song. As far as using the word “2NE1” to release a track together, then maybe YG can get involved. To be more specific, if they were to work together on a song again and release it publicly then for example CL would have to say “ft. Minzy, Bom, Dara” and not the word “2NE1”

If you wanna know more about them then variety show, personal youtube, etc is the way. If you are into K-variety show then not only 2ne1 but you can see other idol groups personality . shows from running man, i live alone, happy together and more. Just need to google it if wanna see them out of the stage and music videos.

For Coachella 2NE1 came out in secret and unannounced. All of them worked for different companies and they did not tell their companies they were coming. Not certain if CL paid for them like she did for MMA 2015. So you can recognize when the audience realized they were there.
