My dad is/was? from C14. As a kid, I always noticed his C14 tats. But I was too intimidated to ask what that meant. As a teen, I learned more of my dad’s history without asking him. He was with Clanton in the late 70s & 80s, the L.A. neighborhood though. One piece of advice from my pops that stuck in my head as an 11 year old was, “always keep your head up in the streets.” The night before, he had got jumped in Paramount. This was 1993.

I lived up in Northern California for a year and a half in 2002 -03 . I’m from Norwalk and didn’t know any other Surenos but ended up meeting the homies from Clanton in San Jo. I had their back and they had mine. All I have to say about the Upstate Clanton Surenos back then is those guys were about their business . The way they ran their hood reminded me of down south . Upstate back then they wrote C13 and wore a lot of Sharks gear . Always ready to mash on the Nortenos on Santa Clara St in San Jo (Whittier Blvd of South Bay Area)
