Why is linear displacement the arc length in circular motion, but not a straight line?

It's a great question! Arc length is the distance traveled along a curved path, so it makes sense that it would be the linear displacement for circular motion. If you think about it, a straight line is just a very small part of a larger circle. So, when you're measuring linear
