Classic Tailback - Garrison Hearst Georgia Highlights

A compilation of some of Garrison Hearst's highlights at the University of Georgia. One of many Georgia tailbacks who will forever be underrated because they "weren't Herschel" (Todd Gurley, Rodney Hampton, Knowshon Moreno, Nick Chubb, etc.), Hearst was still an exceptional runner in his own right. A shifty and elusive ball-carrier who could and would cut back at any time, number five deserved the Heisman in 1992 more than anyone not named Marshall Faulk.
And of course, he later became an iconic video game character as a 75 MS deity in Tecmo Super Bowl.

the 90s dawgs broke our hearts several times but with flashes of hines ward, garrison hearst, Terrell davis, champ bailey, Richard Seymour and several other dawgs it brought great memories for us dawg fans

Loved that '91 team so much since those stars were the mainstays during my time as a student - the Clemson game might have been my favorite gameday ever. The weather was perfect, the Braves had clinched the division that day in the Worst-to-First season so even the visiting Clemson fans were euphoric, and the game itself was a classic being broadcast on ESPN in the days just before everything was on television.

My uncle was friends with him back in the day, going to several camps together and he was going to go to UGA with him, but unk was being recruited as a fullback until FSU said he could play tailback…he was buried on the depth chart and transferred after his first semester to Ga. Southern. They’re still friends to this day. Coming down to fish every couple of years when my uncle takes out the boat.

PockyCandy Definitely worth the wait. He was my favorite running back when I was playing running back in high school. I modeled my game after him. This brings back so many memories for me. Thanks so much!

I'm glad that you like the video. Hearst was the definition of a shifty and elusive runner. He cut back more times in one video than the last 10 guys I made videos of combined.

You talk about a tuff running back, Garrison Hearst was a strong and powerful runner that kept his legs moving and never gave up on plays during the game. Hearst ran the ball with pride and could juke a defender with his great athleticism. In my personal opinion I felt Garrison Hearst deserved to go to the NFL. He put in work and the effort necessary to gain his respect and legacy.

You should have seen him play softball. I was on an industrial league that played against his team. They didn't need anyone in the outfield but him, he could cover the entire field before you knew what was going on.
