Born and bred in Maryland and never heard of Cracker Salad -- Military for 23 years and lived all over US and Germany - never heard of it anywhere - - but looks wonderful - - think I'd add a small can of tuna - -

Hello Georgia here. My grandmother would add lettuce and I add spinach instead of lettuce. Best thing ever. I would spend summers at her house and she would make me salads and this. I miss her!

This is a perfect salad for summer! I agree with the last part about refrigerating it (for me) so that it's cold, adding the crackers whenever I'm ready for some. I am motivated to experiment a little to my taste by adding in crab and shrimp and cilantro, maybe a bit of lime juice too.

Can’t wait until tomatoes are in season- my mom loved tomato sandwiches- before she passed away (in assisted living with Dad) she always instructed me to put mayo on white bread with lots of black pepper 💖 there’s nothing better with fresh garden tomatoes 👍👍

I love my egg cooker.. they peel so much easier steamed rather than boiled.. I love tomato, onion and cucumber sandwiches with mayonnaise slathered on both slices salted and peppered..that tomato, cracker salad looks yummy..

In the 50s mother (then in her 20s) was in the "Homemakers Club". They met monthly with the county extension agent teaching tips, crafts, gardening and sharing recipes. This was one of those recipes. I've enjoyed every year since with our heirloom tomatoes. Thanks for sharing. 👍👍👏👏🇺🇲

I LOVE tomato sandwiches! So good and tasty, and frugal as well. Every bite is delightful ❤ I made this salad once about a year or so ago after seeing another KZfaqr make it but I only made it with tomato, mayo, and crackers. It never occurred to me to add hard boiled eggs, onions and cheese --- all three of which I love as well. I will definitely have to try it your way, Catherine! Thanks so much for sharing ❤

I was told it was a cracker salad from some fellow campers. Something else that is good to add is crispy bacon and crumble it up in only the portion your eating.

Wow, I ive 60 miles from Hattiesburg. The Creole Tomatoes are in now. I am originally from West Virginia, we raised Beef Steak Tomatoes there, delicious! Thanks for this recipe.
