Paid a fiver in the north stand that day to one of the blues I know who worked the turnstiles. You'll see proper old school Crumpsall red Batesy go up for the first and second goals in the Utd end. RIP Batesy. MUFC.

Of the 35 years of supporting City last game of that season 95/96 was the most deflated and gut wrenching I'd ever felt when we Drew With Liverpool 2-2 got relegated on goal difference and the Rags won the league the same day.

Pitches seemed to be shite more or less all the year around in the 1990s- rare enough to see some of the goalmouths, centre circles as churned up today, even in winter.
