Nice work Chris. Will love to see the new channels going in again in future uploads if you're planning that. Thanks for spending the time showing us how you do these things, always a pleasure. Regards, Ian, UK

Yep I normally do, but my welder wanted to play with the torch, he has fun.

Sorry Chris but he should've used a cut off wheel, it comes out a lot cleaner, you will do more grinding with this method

Yes I will have the later uploads with the new channels going in.

As long as it does not get too hot where it would warp, you should be ok. But I still think a grinder tool with the cutting wheel on it is best.

I'm getting 1965 Beetle in few months. And I'll spend the entire winter in it, and winters here can get pretty harsh. So, I'm really thankful for this video, I've heard that once everything about Beetle's heating system is alright, you can cook yourself in it. What's your opinion on gas heaters, do you know anything about them?

Using a torch like that works great if your replacing the lower wheel well and the lower rear quarter like you said, but if your not replacing those panels I wouldn't use a torch cause the heat will warp the panel and it's kind of sloppy, but that's just my 2 cents haha. Thanks for the video.

Just my opinion! I would never use a torch to do this. You still have to drill out all the spotwelds. It seems like more unnecessary work. Plus, you got nothing left, if you need a reference.

Yo Chris I have the body off my 60 rag. I need body patches, not whole sections ... same kind of sections you showed. I've had a hard time finding them. Who do you recommend? I can't afford the real expensive dude ... kapp something. I chill in the right lane at 60-65 and only one asshole out of a hundred people barrel down my deck ... tools.
