I was one of the minority side who genuinely love this song when it was released back then. The song is so catchy. I couldn't believe it when most people said that it's a flop and a mess. RV's jpn discography got its own charms.

So many groups either phone in their Japanese songs or they're genuine efforts but they don't have good mixing or microphone quality, but both of RV's Japanese EP's are amazing and just as good as their Korean work.

I love this song and I've heard so many people say this song is a mess and a flop. I'm so glad you guys enjoyed this song! The vocals of this song are beautiful! EDIT: I watch a lot of unpopular opinion videos on youtube which is where I see a lot of people say this song is a flop. Personally I prefer Sappy over Cookie Jar (although I do like both songs). Didn't expect so many replies lol

Loved this reaction, everyone pointed out everything i love about Red Velvet: great vocals, great harmonies, clean production and their versatility. And they do it so charmingly :) I agree with Isaac and Kevin that Sappy is a bit like a microcosm of everything Red Velvet- Sappy is so underrated so it's great seeing it get some love

The combo of Aespa, Wendy's controversy and Covid just hit RV hard. Lee Soo Man said back in November that RV will be coming back this year with a more "mature" side

Thank God Wendy is ok now and started to have schedules. I think they will wait more time until the gp forget Irene’s controversy but her movie is out now so I think we will see them soon

I really liked how they appreciated even the RV songs that many people felt they were lacking, or unattractive. I love that they unpack RV tracks to their knowledge and taste. I really like this song, those who don't like it just don't like to be adventurous in the world of music.

That song is a masterpiece - not only because is a good production with a jazzy feeling with their beautiful voices, etc, but it's like a sunshine, it's bright, cheerful and powerful. The only reaction channel that matters. This is one of my favorite songs by RV, and that's saying a lot for a group with such a stellar discography. Mixing an industrial dance beat with a 60's style horn section. Yes please. And literally a full minute of the song is just an orgy of vocal ad-libs. 👍

I love how this channel chooses what song needs a reaction from classical & jazz musicians. And i'm glad they recognize this song cause this song is pretty underrated also for reveluvs. I love this, RBB, ice cream cake, one of these nights and Dumb dumb. Just musically fireworks in my ears. Plus their side tracks are just heaven's kiss.

I really appreciate that you add those pop-ups to explain the technical music terms they're using. The only problem is that they explain the technical term using a bunch of other technical terms, so they only make sense if you already understand them. 😅 It would be amazing if you might explain things more in laymen's terms in the future. I know I would be grateful, and I doubt I'm alone. 😊

Big agree! These popups are useful, but only if you happen to know all the other terms in it. They sound like they've been taken straight from a music theory textbook, and I'd bet most viewers don't know enough of it to actually understand most of them

That pre-chorus takes the K-pop picardy third fetish and keeps jumping around the circle. That + drunk feel makes it veeeeery neo-soul inspired. The 6:17 mention of modulations reminds me of Oscar Peterson's description of tonality-based music in his interview/masterclass with Dick Cavett.
