I saw Il Divo live in Nottingham years ago when Carlos was still with us. I went with my bff, who also has since sadly passed away. It is a memory I treasure, for obvious reasons, but also because they were phenomenal singing live, and very entertaining. Carlos was funny, and ever so slightly cheesy, playing up to the women in the audience, but hey, what a powerhouse of a voice. This video brought back bittersweet feelings and memories of that evening. Nice to hear a clear and honest analysis of the performance. I’m a new subscriber and happy to be here.

No era cursi. SAdemas de un gran cantante era un SHOWMAN, le encanta andar las bromas y que las personas sonrieran, él era el primero que se reia de si mismo. Fue y será la VOZZZ de ILDIVO.

Il Divo is a fantastic group that makes classical and semi classical music palatable to even those who do not regularly listen to those genres. For me, anyway, the fact that they were "assembled" much like the Monkees were lo so very long ago and have struck such a fan base is quite remarkable. I like their music very much. Thanks for this insight and reaction.

I LOVE IL DIVO!!! I saw them live many years ago and they were absolutely insane. They are sooooo incredibly talented. I was in the 5th row and they had a full orchestra on stage with them and it was amazing.

TY SH!! Carlos was my first baritone love, and still gives me goosebumps. Then I found bass singers and it amazes me how the human voice can sound so breathtakingly beautiful.

The French singer was a pop singer before Il Divo. The other two tenors and Carlos are classically trained. I always felt when Carlos took the lead and let loose that 'now, here's the big gun!'.

Urs was a rock singer previously but correct classically trained. I saw two of their concerts but until Sir said how long ago since he has heard IL Divo - I didn’t realize how old I am. ❤

Carlos empezó a Cantar a los 8 años, sus profesores en el conservatorio con 12 años fueron Alfredo Krauss, Monserrat Cavalle y Jaume Aragall...participó en muchas óperas como Barítono. Se fue en lo.mas alto de su carrera con 53 años.

@@LaurieRein ... well, IMO, they don't have the audience here. At the risk of seeming to bad mouth: not all, but the majority of Southerners are more into rock or country than classical style singing. I've sung all my life, and studied voice, so can appreciate and enjoy them.

Don't worry about the filter. It is how it is and at the end the sound is important and your reaction/Analysis and they are great as always. And i agree, Kathrin Jenkins is also absolute great.

I didn’t realize Andrea Bocelli & Sarah Brightman made this so popular. I heard him sing it with his son. Last time I heard her was in the production of Phantom of the Opera. Wow - I have aged quickly in this analysis.

@@SirHairless Almost 40 - She starred in the first British adaptation in 1986 with Michael Crawford but I watched an excellent documentary on the making of Phantom. Is a song from a broadway play considered too passé for you to react to? as you asked for something more popular in your polls.

I was fortunate to see them live twice, once in 2013, I believe, in my beautiful Guatemala and i fell in love with their music, then two years later at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles. I miss Carlos powerful voice. I still love their music, but my heart has been taken over by Dimash now 😊. You should react to their version of Adagio, I love it so much just as much as D’s version. I like that Il Divo sang it in Italian, I don’t know why but it adds charm to it, at least for me.

I'd heard of Il Divo years ago around the time of Brighteman and Bocceli and others. It was an era. I lost sight of them over the years but it's nice to hear this again. Thank you for featuring it. Have you heard Nesun Dorma by Rob and Austin from Home free? There are some gems in that performance. Austin really made the attempt. Rob shone in his operatic voice.

Oh... I saw the original IL DIVO in concert in California in 2013 (or 2012) and it was unbelievable!! They were AMAZING, goosebumps the entire concert! I am so happy to see this choice for your reaction. So nicely done. There is however a huge difference between their live and their recorded performance. I wonder why. Thank you SH!

Aaaaawwwwwwwww Con Te Partiro! I listened to Andrea Bocelli’s “Romanza” cd on repeat. This song is so beautiful. Mr. Bocelli’s voice is so pure and calming to me. This cover with full orchestra and four talented singers is lovely. The only thing that bothers me a bit is their different vibratos. I cannot not hear it. Another great R/A under your belt. Thank you. 🤗

My sisters chose the Sarah Brightman version for my mum's funeral. I found that pretty funny because Mum hated Sarah Brightman. Also hearing 'time to say goodbye' as the coffin went through the curtains was amusing to me. I like to think she was looking down and saying 'who the heck picked this?'

Carlos had a truly beautiful voice. I’ve also always heard this song, but this is my first listen. This rendition is very nice. The lyrics are too real for me - this colors my reaction. I prefer this cover to the earlier Brightman cover. Thank you.

WOW that’s a lovely rendition of this beautiful song combined with a great analysis by Sir Hairless, thank you! I’m more familiar with the Italian version “Con Te Partirò” by Andrea Bocelli but I also liked this interpretation by Il Divo👍Bocelli has always been a loved figure in Brazil and next month he will be performing here again as part of his tour to celebrate 30 years of his music career :)

Ich mochte früher " il Divo" Bei den Höhepunkten allerdings habe ich oft aufgehört und nur noch den Schluss gehört. Jetzt gibt es eine Gruppe, wo ich die Höhepunkte höre und LIEBE . Das ist "Forestella"

This is one of my favorite song sung by Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman. I remember that I love this song at the same time with The Phantom of the Opera musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber. Normally I’m not a kind of Opera lover person but since then I started enjoying some of the operas’ songs. And I’ve never known that Il Divo sing this song too. So, feel so glad that I found it through you plus bonus the analysis for free 😅 Thanks for posting the reaction and I’m happy to stick around on your channel as I know that there are so much knowledges that I can gain from your expertise and also your appearance quite entertain me too. It does remind me I was going to recommend a Canadian group "The Tenors" doing a collaboration with Lindsey Stirling of Brian May of Queen's "Who Wants to Live Forever" when you were doing her collaborations with Pentatonix.
