@@Elamado97 Actually, to sing high notes well, it takes technique as well It is easy to strain your voice when singing high notes with proper support or technique, that can damage your vocal cords There are ways to kind of increase your vocal range, for example, vocalizing while yawning As for whether it’s the hardest thing in singing, I’m not sure I’m not an expert, I take singing lessons, but I’m focusing on things like relaxing my jaw and using my mixed voice, but personally, I think whether singing high notes is the hardest thing to do depends on the person Let’s say there are two singers who both have the same vocal range, Singer X and Singer Y. Singer X can easily sustain a high note with good support, but struggles with things like riffs. Singer Y, can sing runs and riffs with ease and use vibrato naturally, but cannot sing high notes, he either strains his voice or is off tune So in my opinion, I think it depends on the person (Oh damn I typed a lot)

Being a true soprano is more rare than contralto and alto for women but the rarest is true bass, which I the low end of the spectrum. So high notes sound impressive because everyone knows how hard it is to hit the highly notes at the edge of your rage. The hardest thing to do is develop control and technique.

I went to an America's Got Talent taping once. Before ANY of the acts audition in front of the audience, the production comes out and tells the audience: standing ovation on 1, 2, 3. now, everybody look up and look surprised/scared. Now, act bored. Then they pick some audience members for the close-up shots of people yawning, laughing, etc. (without anybody on stage.) They do the same with judge dramatic reactions. THEN, the auditions begin and you find out why you were looking up scared/surprised... there's an act with a guy doing aerial stuff. I left after the second audition.

How come they can’t just take live reactions
@TheInsomniarules
@TheInsomniarules 5 ай бұрын
@@annoynmous1 I think mainly because people don’t naturally react dramatically and they need that for tv… if I’m watching a guy hanging from the ceiling I’m probably just going to look up and clap, but not with my mouth wide open while grabbing my cheeks and mouthing “I’m scared…” 😱 And if someone happens to do that naturally, what are the chances of having a camera doing a close-up of you doing it… so yeah, they tell everyone to do it and place several cameras pointed at certain people in the audience who know they are being filmed for a reaction… all those cameras are gone when the acts come out.

"This is not a competition. This is you *versus* yourself." I can't believe this was said on a *competition* show, and not one of the other judges called him on it. For one, since this is a *competition* show in which he is *competing* with other people to win a prize it most certainly *is* a *competition* Secondly, even if you were to disregard the fact that he was *competing* against other people, the fact that the judge said "This is you *versus* yourself" would have *still* made it a competition. How does something this illogical spring to someones mind? I mean honestly, if I were the judge that said that I would feel awkward and feel the need to correct myself. Maybe it's just me?

The one good thing about all of these young people trying to make their violin performance look hip (even if they aren't playing that well, or are missing notes), I think is that it allows young audience members to see that playing violin isn't just about each generation playing the exact same pieces for hundreds of years. At least they can see that there can be different styles, some variety, and it may cause more young people to take up violin.

So I have a confession to make. I’m 18, up until like a week ago I though playing high notes on the violin was something really impressive that only really good players could do. I guess because it’s hard to sing high my brain decided it makes sense for it to be hard to play too??
@elly_hermione
@elly_hermione 2 жыл бұрын
Well, high notes are hard to play, because you play them in high positions (when your left hand moves closer to your shoulder) and it can be hard to play in tune there, so you weren't really wrong. However, you can play in high positions, but not really high notes if you play on G string which is low itself, but it's still same level hard with playing in high positions on E string (which makes the highest notes). And it will be much harder than playing in 1st position on E string, even though 1st position on E string makes higher notes than high positions on G string. So, it's actually not about how high the note is, but how high the position is. And many other things, too ;) And also, even though it's hard, it's a skill that every violinist usually has, not only the best of them, but good violinists make it sound much better and seem easy.

Playing high notes are more difficult than lower notes, because of the hand position (left hand). However, they were pointing out the tremolo (= tremble) effect, which is made by the bow hand (right hand). The tremolo effect itself is easy to do.

Tremolo is definitely a cheap trick that pop stars seem to love to lean on. If only audiences knew how hard it can be to make a long bow stroke sound beautiful on a violin… I once shared a bill with a few different bands at a club in Nashville, almost all of them with a violinist or fiddler. Sure enough, it was the guy who played tremolo up and down the fingerboard who got the crowd going. C’est la vie.

People in these clips often react to high notes as if the performer wasn't playing an instrument specifically designed to make that sound with absolutely no extra effort, but as if they were singing the note and managed to go way beyond the regular range. Which is kind of hilarious. Imagine them reacting like that to someone hitting the highest key on a piano.
