Thank God for the Anglican Tradition. They have preserved the holiness, the sacreness and the reverence deserved by our beloved Saviour. Above all the grandeur and splendour pours forth from Heaven. The organ overwhelms in heavenly majesty. As for the choir it's angelic.

Nobody can come close to the Anglican Tradition in beauty . Unfortunately modernism with its inherent agnosticism has been embraced by the Church of England at the highest levels . Therefore the pagentry and pomp has lost much of its meaning .

Such a godly presence, especially if you've ever played a true pipe one yourself you can really feel it. I wish more churches still did it for their services. The choir singing along with the organ backing moved me to tears watching this.

I am from India. Whenever I hear this song I could remember my Childhood days. 10 days celebrations from Christmas Eve 24th Dec to 1 January, joyful days. Christmas is a amazing festival. God revealed in flesh. What a amazing is this, what a wonderful love he have on his people. God the Almighty searched and reached the earth seeking his own people. So wonderful!!!

As a Dutch Roman Catholic I have to say that I find the Anglican Worship of God and His holy Birthgiver most wonderful and inspiring, Thank you graciously and may God save your gracious Queen! Your courageous stubborness in our darkest hour when all hope seemed lost is not forgotten over here in the Netherlands. We revere your fallen heroes, especially here around Arnhem the town where my father saw the Angels of Freedom land from the sky and where I was born just south of the John Frost bridge. We honour the British and the Free Polish heroes. At the going down of the sun and in the morning we will remember them. Thank you.

I mean the list of classic Christmas carols isn't that big, so most of the Christmas carols are "one of the greatest" if you actually know them. And a carol by definition is sacred. If it's not sacred, it's not a carol, it's a Christmas song, or worse, a holiday song. But yes, for me this is the quintessential carol. I don't my favorite necessarily, but it's the exemplar somehow, perfect on every way. Gotta say, some of the lesser known stuff is just bangin as well. I didn't know that medieval Christmas music was an available genre until last year, and some of that is really good stuff, and a couple of my favorites are from the shape note tradition, Star In The East is one, Babe of Bethlehem is another. Sherburne and Milford. And I think it's a newer composition in the old style, but the song Glory Shone Around in the Shenandoah Harmony (and the Cooper Sacred Harp) goes hard, literally.

Im not Christian but it could be because it is inspired and dedicated to something that actually matters. Something which is in a sense more "real" than things like money, worldly success, flings, dating, drugs etc. Perhaps you know what i mean. There's no fancy instruments or clever lyrics or deep bass or dancing here, just a bunch of middle aged people stood robot upright chanting away. and yet it still hits the mark. Why?

It's not that high, relatively moderate high Anglican, their liturgy is quite modern catholic, but rendering by royal luxury. There are still some high Anglican parishes in London having English Missal mass, which is very similar to Tridentine mass, but in English.

The the last few verses were absolutely magnificent. I got goosebumps when the choir began to descant and the organ hit the low notes making the entire building rumble. Awesome.

I am an American raised in an Evangelical church so our services look nothing like this, however I have great admiration for the beautiful liturgical services and the organ. I would love to attend a service like this one day. Merry Christmas and God bless.

the liturgy is something we should never discard. With all love to our evangelical brothers and sisters, this is something that I, as a Lutheran (we are Anglicanism's closest cousins), would never want to lose.

This is my favorite song. So great to hear the additional verses, and it's so intriguing to see the pageantry and symbolisms exercised therein. Such a powerful prayer prayed in the middle, I felt moved in my faith by its author's genuine heart; indeed, let all the lost come to Jesus, the Anointed One, and know His Light. Glory to God in the Highest and Peace on earth toward men who believe that God sent Him.

I’m Catholic by birth to be in mass even though online is coming home. My grandmother was a church organist for the Roman Catholic Church. We were up at five am for the latin mass. She had a baby grand piano and organ in the house. She taught not only religion but history music singing and art. She loved the faith daily. I painted her a little white church for Christmas one year and she cried she was so happy. Grandpa had two grandfather clocks for her one for each anniversary. They lived a long happy life together raising almost 9 children many grands and great grands. Grandma and grandpa surrounded me with love. They allowed me to live my life but they promised me train a child in the ways they should go and they’ll never depart from it. This is my home the church this is returning home for the holidays. My father was related distantly to King Edward… I don’t know everything about history but I did absorb much of what they taught me. And I found love and acceptance… thank you fir this lovely service.

Merry Christmas to you all. It is a very beautiful Hymn. Christmas wouldn't be complete without one of these hymns. Just as the Hymn says, Let us all rejoice the birth of our King and Savior Jesus Christ. This is a season to contemplate and find the Bethlehem in our hearts. It is the Catholic lyrics being used in the Hymn. Both Anglicans and Catholics have a lot of similarities, but they also have a good number of differences. But I do consider them as Authentic Christian Churches unlike the money making scam so called Mega Churches run by pastors who are only in it for money.

The big difference between the two faiths is lose the Pope and add women clergy. Some high Anglican churches are more RC than some main stream RC around here. My wife is a former RC and now is an Anglican Priest, a Canon of our Cathedral.

We can thank King Henry III (1216-1272) who substantially rebuilt the Abbey in the French gothic style. The model for this was Amiens Cathedral in France. The interior of the Abbey is very much how the King left it in 1272.

What are you talking about? A lot of atheists lead very fulfilling lives because I know a lot who are working in parks or with animals and nature. I am raised Christian too but I have come to learn from a decade of travelling and protecting wildlife that atheists are not without morals or beliefs. In fact, a lot of them act more saintly and in peace than many faithful people themselves. While all of us are in church, they are out there actively protecting and caring for God's creations. I'm not saying this to imply that one is better than the other. I just think it's important to not get too caught up with being a Christian but we forget to act like one. No matter how superior you think you are to other people's religions and those without, only God can judge the true goodness of people.
