Sometimes one partner is uncomfortable going to couples counseling initially. Other times, folks can see clearly that they are the one that need to clean things up on their side of the fence.

I agree that effort should be mutual but sometimes things are not equal on either side. Sometimes one will be doing more then they take turns and the other does more. But overall it should be equally divided in efforts.
